Every processed event, including closed events, is permanently stored in the database. In environments with a high event rate, this leads to continuous database growth and increasing storage requirements.
It would be useful to have a configurable retention policy that automatically removes events older than a specified period (e.g. 7, 30, 90, or N days).
This would help administrators control database size without requiring manual cleanup.
