Hello, you should be able to find a version in the Linux firmware repo: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git/plain/rtlwifi/rtl8712u.bin

I believe other versions were available, possibly from Realtek or a Windows driver download, although I have forgotten by this point.

The code won't work with the most recent kernels, FYI - they removed a function I relied upon from the codebase.

I feel terrible. I have some problems now:

1. I used the rtlfmac driver on the Raspberry PI 3B hardware platform. ----rtlfmac driver has been compiled succeed.
2. I used the link above to download rtl8712u.bin.
3. The driver insmod succeed, but crashes when iwlist wlan0 scanning is executed.

I did some experiments:

1. The rtl8712su use https://github.com/chunkeey/rtl8192su.git. I used the bin and r92su driver, can normal scan with the commond "iwlist wlan0 scanning".
2. Used the r92su driver in https://github.com/chunkeey/rtl8192su.git and the firmware in https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux/git/plain/rtlwifi/rtl8712u.bin, can normal scan with the commond "iwlist wlan0 scanning".
3. Used the rtlfmac driver and https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git/plain/rtlwifi/rtl8712u.bin, Still unable to scan with the commond "iwlist wlan0 scanning".

Both are fullmac architecture, I have a question about this issue. I have also consulted the realtek WiFi team, but because the rtl8191su is too old, no one can explain the problem.

My purpose is to learn the fullmac architecture of WiFi driver. Your example is a successful and succinct one. So I wanted to verify the functionality.

What kernel version are you using? What exact USB device are you using? I'll try to take a look soon to see why it is crashing.

The linux removed the function("ieee80211_data_from_8023"). So, you can add the function code to rtlfmac.c when build the driver faild.
