I cannot reproduce the issue on the example file, probably due to my system already having the latest version of babel-german. Could you please share some log from building the example document that shows the behaviour? The build error in CI is most likely due to something missing (again), hence we can ignore it for now. |

As said, it's not reproducible with current TeX Live 2026, please specify versions, give me more information, etc. |
