Is your feature request related to a problem?

Yes, I find myself on MacOS "Quitting" the app entirely in order to discard a recording and make a new one. Am I missing something? Is there a smooth flow for this?

A simple menu option at the top for the app to discard and start new recording would work for me: discard a recording and make a new one.

I would like to tackle this issue
i am planning to add a "new recording "button in the VideoEditor toolbar and clicking on this gives a popup for user confirmation to prevent accidental loss and on confirming sends an ipc message from the renderer to the main process that closes the current window and opens the selection panel once again.

Can u let me know if the approach sounds good or you would like a different ux like maybe a menu item instead of a toolbar item

I'm not sure. I think both sound good to me.

It's silly to have to quit the whole program and reopen it each time.

Maybe @siddharthvaddem would have a UX preference before implementing?

yeaa yeaa i agree that button or toolbar would just pop out in the side and the app keeps running in the background ..no need to quit
