I've spent my career where biology meets computation: eight years building genomics infrastructure, co-founding a bioinformatics startup, and now leading applied AI in life-sciences R&D. Same pattern every time. Find a real problem, build the thing that solves it, ship it.

Most of what I make outside the day job lives under J&S Group LLC, built in the open on nights and weekends. It's all local-first and privacy-respecting by design: the tools run on your machine, store nothing in the cloud, and never phone home. That's a deliberate choice, and it's why I build them myself.

Headroom is probably why you're here. It's a macOS menu-bar app that shows how much of every AI coding subscription you have left, in one place, by reading each provider's own usage numbers (Claude, Codex, GLM, Kimi, MiniMax). No account, no telemetry, MIT licensed. It's part of Claudelicious, a small family of warm, local-first Claude tools.
