In live viewers the connection indicator is blinking even though data is comming

The connection indicator in the live viewers is often blinking or showing no connection even though data is received (reported by @RichardWhite109 ). This is probably due to a too short hold off time after receiving data. This time should be settable or based on the average rate maybe?
