系统版本分为 内核版本 和 发行版本。
Linux 内核: Linux 内核是计算机操作系统的核心,是为你运行的其他程序分配计算机资源的程序,其功能可以划分为系统、网络、存储、内存和计算。
Linux 发行版: Linux 发行版(Linux distribution)是由 Linux 内核(Linux kernal)和 软件包管理系统组合而成的操作系统,软件包管理系统中包括应用程序和实用软件(例如 GNU tools and libraries),针对不同的用户,包里装着不同的组件。常见发行版有 基于 Redhat 的 CentOS 和 基于 Debian 的 Ubuntu。
以下两种方法适用于所有发行版。
