Improve message for missing metrics due to no topic activity

Hi! I'd like to work on this issue if it's still available.

My understanding is that the goal is to improve the message shown when metrics are unavailable because there hasn't been any topic activity yet, making it clearer for users why metrics aren't being displayed.

If that aligns with the intended behaviour, I'll investigate where this message is rendered, update it with a more descriptive explanation, and add or update tests if needed.

That's correct, but I am now questioning whether this issue is relevant any longer with the new version of the UI (versus the old Next.js version).

Previously, we saw this rendered when no metrics were available for a topic. The message was misleading, making it seem as though there was some configuration error.

Now with the plain React UI, the metrics card shows a less confusing message. I'm open to further improvements on this if you have some ideas.

Thanks for the clarification! I agree that the current React UI already provides a much clearer message than the previous implementation. I don't have any substantial improvements in mind at the moment, so I think the current behavior is reasonable. I'll keep an eye out for other issues where I can make a more meaningful contribution.
