Traccar Client extremely inconsistent after 9.6.5

Hi

I have noticed an issue where Tracvar Client has become extremely inconsistent after version 9.6.5.

I am on Graphene OS, Android 16.

Location only seems to send when i click the "send location" button.

The older version being 9.6.5 works perfectly fine on my phone.

I noticed in the old version, Traccar would show up in active apps, but this is no longer the case on newer versions (i have tried every version after 9.6.5 and they all seem consistent).

Is there anything possible to make the app work on newer versions with Graphene OS please?

Do you have proper Google Play services?

i have sandboxed google play services installed, yes

I don't know what sandboxed mean exactly in this case. If it doesn't behave the same way as the standard Google Play, you can definitely have issues.

Have you tried older version of Traccar Client? That might work better for your case.

I had the same issue on GrapheneOS with sandboxed (user instead of system app, which allows to control the permissions) Google Play Services, and using the version you sent fixed the issue. what does it need Google Services for though?

@mesmerciful have you given Google Play Services these permissions?

• physical activity
• location - all the time

I have others too, but I think that's what Traccar needs. With the new flutter location service it offloads the work to Google Play Services, so that's what will show as requesting location.

Same issue with me. I have Samsung A71 with proper google. After the latest update the location sleeps and is off. I have to tell the perosn to continuously click on Send Location to update it. I have installed traccar on my own server. Server is fine. The previous version would not go to sleep.

Which previous version are you referring to? What version are you using now? What configuration?

Current version - 9.7.18.
Previous version which I had no issues with sleeping and offline update etc was (i believe) 9.7.16.
