The current README.md is not contain sufficient to actually run a CAPWAP AC. It needs to be extended.

I have already run capwap-dp, but ergw-capwap-node still prints "Node'capwap-dp@ubuntu'is down".

First, more log output always helps.

In this case I would guest that the name of your host is not 'ubuntu'. When you start the ergw-capwap-node, you should see what it calls itself. This will something like 'ergw-capwap-node@NODENAME'. Use the same nodename part for the capwap-dp node.

Also, there is a bug in the capwap AC that will cause a crash in ieee80211_station:update_sta_from_mgmt_frame_ies/2 when a station attempts to associate to a SSID without encryption. Make sure you enable PSK on all SSID's.

You need to change the defaults setting to:
