Bar chart annotations are too high above error bars

As you can see in the attached image the clearence between the error bars and my annotations is far too high. I can't find a way to reduce this distance. From how it looks, it looks like the cleareance distance is at least the length of the error bar.

I have tried:

• Changing the size of the plot.
• Using different methods to plot the error bars

Sorry it took so long to get an initial answer. What happens if you omit the error bars lines?
Then, if that was OK, could you try getting the value for the top of the error bar and use that as y values for the annotation?
