Steps to reproduce

You can inspect the DOM at the following page where I have the same content (table with dates) rendered inside tabs as well as outside tabs: https://dev-global-health-e-learning-program.pantheonsite.io/tabs-shortcode-issue/

Expected behavior

I expect that html is not removed from the content when rendered in a tab.

I did some sleuthing and it looks like it's the WordPress function wp_kses_post() that removes this in sanitation. The UW WordPress theme seems to correctly use this function on line 221 in class.tabs-tours-shortcode.php to sanitize/escape the output.

The <time> element with datetime attribute appears to not be an allowed combination in the core wp-includes/kses.php file.

I don't know why the KSES function considers this "evil", but it's not a bug attributed to the UW WordPress theme and wanted to inform you on that. It does show that the wp_kses_post() function can have some unexpected results though.

The tabs shortcode has been updated to allow the <time> element in the theme as of 3.8.
