Device
X4
Affected Version
v1.3.4 RC
Build Variant
tiny
EPUB Optimization
Yes, using the built-in web transfer EPUB optimizer
Cache State
Yes, book cache (Reader menu > Delete Book Cache)
Describe the Bug
After creating several clippings, I noticed that single words and word groups were highlighted on pages that I hadn’t read yet.
Apparently some words are marked as highlighted (gray background) that are part of any clipping.
It does not affect all words. The word "ist" was highlighted everywhere, being only a part of a longer clipping. Then I tested with the very common word ("und"): Highlighting just this word led to all occurances of "und" being highlighted.
The issue also occured with a 3-words sequence that is only part of a clipping:
Clipping: "Reden Sie nicht, wie es in der Luft liegt, jun..."
Highlighted in book: "in der Luft"
I tested with two books.
Steps to Reproduce
- open a book
- choose create clipping from the book menu (select button twice, then down, down, select: "Create Clipping"
- select a word with the up/down/left/right buttons
- press the select button twice
- back in the book, turn pages to find instances of inexpectedly highlighted words
Expected Behavior
Creating a clipping should highlight only the exact text that was selected for the clipping. Other occurrences of the same word or phrase in the book should remain unhighlighted.
