Issue with smithaxes.py is broken on latest numpy

smithaxes.py is broken with latest numpy.
I have done a workaround and it's in the following file:

I had the same problem but I changed matplotlib code in my venv.

This is fixed in pull request #28
Unfortunately this library appears unmaintained so it has not yet been merged.
