What started as a toy DSO panel has graduated into a protocol-aware instrumentation suite. The physical scope metaphor, real acquisition modes, visible trigger, and math features described in the original post are all in main and working.

What was achieved since this post:

• Hardware-accurate DSO layout with vertical/horizontal/trigger/math panels.
• Real acquisition modes: Run, Single-shot, Average, Roll.
• Visible trigger level with Auto / Normal / Single modes.
• Math: FFT spectrum, XY / Lissajous, A+B, A−B, A×B, A÷B with digital phosphor persistence.
• Serial protocol decoders: UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, 1-Wire, SWD, JTAG, and Modbus/RS-485 — all merged to main with real sigrok-dumps fixtures.

What’s next for WaveForge / LA:
We are shifting from pure observation to navigation and interaction. The current focus is the Time Machine Buffer Initiative for indexed, scrubbable history of large captures, followed by the broader LA roadmap.

Position knobs that didn't move the trace
A "math" checkbox. The whole feature.
What's new: hardware layout, real acquisition modes, visible trigger, math that does math, knobs that turn.
Coming up: reference waveform save/load, serial decoders (SPI/I2C/UART), cleaner state machine internals.
Two questions: Does the physical scope metaphor help? Is basic FFT good enough for audio tinkering?
