Relevant features are not displayed until you zoom in far

I was trying out the map and I noticed that for coin press machines I would have to zoom in above zoom level 14 to see anything. In this part of Japan there is only one mapped, so I don't see why it is hidden since the density of them is very low. I'd assume this is a manual setting to not display them below these zoom levels? I'd like to see individual pins at all zoom levels if the density is low enough, similar to MapComplete, and pin clustering for densely mapped features. I would like to use this project for themed maps instead of MapComplete since it's much faster to load.

I don't know if this is technically feasible, just from a usability perspective it would be better for discovering this type of under-mapped feature. For comparison this map is using a penny machine enthusiast database and possibly geocoding all the entries and you can see by panning the map to Japan that there are a ton more of these that are not mapped yet in OSM. But in themap.is at low zoom levels it looks like there is nothing for that feature mapped in OSM, so I was confused for a second until I zoomed into a place that I knew had one mapped.

This is a fundamental issue with how the data is loaded into themap.is. We're using one set of map tiles instead of downloading custom data for every theme. This makes it much faster to switch themes, but means we can't include too much data at low zooms since it would make the tiles too large to download comfortably.

I'm going to leave this issue open since I think it's a common usability problem that I'd eventually like to solve somehow.
