Specify the Google API Credentials

How do we specify the Google API credentials while using geocoder?

You can add API key by creating an Object like so:
{ key: "your api key" }
then place it as the last parameter for geocode or reversegeocode functions
ex. geo.reversegeocode(lat, lng, function(){}, obj);

Not sure if you got answered, but here's an example:

var apiKey = {key: "YOUR-API-KEY"};

geocoder.reverseGeocode(lat, lon, callback, apiKey);

or

geocoder.reverseGeocode(lat, lon, callback, {key: "YOUR-API-KEY"});

where geocoder is your geocode object.

hi @jhova- thanks for the reply. i am getiing below error in console .what does that mean ?
{"error_message":"The provided API key is invalid.","results":[],"status":"REQUEST_DENIED"}
sample code :
var API = { key : "API-KEY-HERE "};
geocoder.geocode("Atlanta Ga 30313", function ( err, data ) {
console.log(data);
}, API );

and another thing is i want to mention client id also .how can i do that .any suggestions ?Thanks in advance

i am totally new to this google maps api's concept .my question is do we need to provide only "Google Maps Geocoding API key" or can we use places API key?

Just to clarify an API key identifies your application, you have to enable your application to have access to which ever API you need, in this case Google Maps Geocode. Given that you already have an API key that identifies your application, then my suggestion would be to, first off, verify that your API key is a server type of API key; secondly that the Google Map Geocode API is enabled for your application and therefore your API key to use.

All this can be done in your console in Google, http://console.cloud.google.com, and at the section where you can enable API and get credential like keys.

Now, regarding client Id, I'm not quite sure as to what you are referring to, Premium Plan, OAuth 2.0?

thanks for the replay @jhova- .regarding client id .yes it is premium plan .so we want to mention client id also . how should i mention what is the key need to be specified in object. is like this var API = { key : "API-KEY-HERE ", clientid : "CLIENT-ID-HERE" } ?

I'm not entirely sure since I personally haven't used Premium Plan, but my best guess from reading this documentation from Google regarding Geocode API and which of-coarse this project is based off of,

https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/geocoding/get-api-key#client-id

would be the following

var API = {client: "CLIENT-ID-HERE", signature: "CLIENT SIGNATURE"} .

If you are wondering about signature, in the above webpage, it dictates how to obtain it and also that it's required for using clientID.

I would suggest read the webpage and give my example a try, obviously after obtaining the clientID signature.

Going through the code, it might fail because as of right now, the only way to send and https request is if you include a key parameter, since you wont be adding a key parameter, instead you'll be adding client and signature, it will be sent through http protocol thus failing. My advice would be fork this repo and add the logic for sending https protocol using client and signature or key in google.js and later add a pull request so that @wyattdanger adds client ID for Premium Plan to this project. I can't do it as I dont have a client ID to test, so it's up to you @sandeepn9494 .
