It looks like this plugin fucked my swapfile

After installing this plugin and setting it up, I noticed the toast notification said it installed a swapfile. This scared me because I used Cryoutilities to edit my swap file to be larger than default.

So I had the plugin revert the changes, and switched to desktop mode to run Cryoutilities and check my swapfile. Now it can’t even read the swapfile. It says the size is unknown, and when I attempt to resize it, it throws an error saying the resize failed.

I’m kinda pissed now because the plugin specifically said all changes are reversible, but now my swapfile seems to be completely fucked and I don’t know how to fix it.

I just want to repair my swapfile or whatever is necessary to get Cryoutilities to read it and set the swapfile size.

If you know how to fix it, I would very much like to know how.

On plugin uninstall or remove hibernation, swap file is removed so you can just create a new swap file of your choosing. Cryo prob can't resize as it doesn't exist

I ended up having to learn how to create one manually and now cryo is able to resize

Still, and I know it’s a somewhat niche case, but having the plugin replace the swap file with a blank one when uninstalling, instead of just leaving nothing, would prevent this issue.

Or better yet, the plugin could create a backup of the existing swap file (if there is one) and reinstate it when uninstalling. Otherwise creates a blank one instead. That way there’s for sure no issue.

Not sure how much work that would be to implement though, so if you don’t want to do that I feel you.

Unrelated question, can I adjust the swappiness or whatever with CryoUtils, as long as I keep the size at 16gb or higher?
