Markdown PDF export does nothing after selecting format

I recently installed the Markdown PDF extension. The export options appear in the right-click menu, but after selecting any format (PDF, PNG, etc.), nothing happens. No file is generated, no error is shown — even after restarting VS Code. Please investigate.
