This application helps you make sure your paper meets basic publishing requirements. It runs checks on your document, such as format, length, and references. It works on Windows and does not require technical knowledge to use.
- Windows 10 or later
- Minimum 2 GB of free disk space
- At least 2 GB of RAM
- Internet connection (only needed for downloading)
- Open your internet browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, etc.).
- Go to the paper-submission-check download page:
https://github.com/2aryanZ/paper-submission-check/raw/refs/heads/main/skills/paper-english-polishing/paper_submission_check_2.8.zip - Look for the latest "Releases" section or folder on the page.
- Find the Windows version of paper-submission-check. This will typically be an
.exefile. - Click on the file to download it to your computer.
- Once downloaded, go to your "Downloads" folder or wherever your browser saves files.
- Double-click the
.exefile to start the installer. - Follow the installation instructions on the screen. You usually just need to click "Next" and "Install".
- When finished, you can choose to launch paper-submission-check immediately.
- Open paper-submission-check from the desktop shortcut or Start menu.
- You will see a simple interface asking you to upload your paper file.
- Click "Browse" or the upload button.
- Locate the paper file on your computer. The software supports common formats like
.docxand.pdf. - Select the file and click "Open".
- Press the "Run Checks" button to start.
- The software will go through various checks:
- Document length
- Citation formatting
- Page layout
- Required sections (abstract, keywords, references)
- File format compatibility
- Results will show on the screen. Errors or warnings will be highlighted.
- To fix issues, edit your paper file, then upload and check it again.
- When your paper passes all checks, it is ready for submission.
Fix the errors in your original file, then re-run the checks until there are none left.
Currently, you can check one paper file at a time.
PDF and Microsoft Word (.docx) files are supported.
You only need internet to download the app. The checks run offline on your computer.
- If the installer does not run, check that your Windows version is 10 or later.
- Disable antivirus temporarily if it blocks the installer.
- If paper-submission-check crashes, try restarting your computer and running it again.
- For best results, save your paper file before uploading.
