⚡ optimize microtubule torus instanced mesh#57
Hidden character warning
Conversation
Optimized the MicrotubuleTorus component by replacing individual mesh rendering with THREE.InstancedMesh. This reduces draw calls for the toruses from 1080 to 2, significantly improving rendering performance. Implementation uses a reusable Object3D for efficient matrix updates within the useFrame loop. 💡 What: Optimized the
MicrotubuleToruscomponent incomponents/QuantumScene.tsxby replacing individual<mesh>components withTHREE.InstancedMesh.🎯 Why: Rendering thousands of individual meshes was extremely expensive and caused excessive draw calls. Using
InstancedMeshallows multiple instances of the same geometry and material to be rendered in a single draw call.📊 Measured Improvement: The theoretical draw call count for the two
MicrotubuleTorusinstances (with counts 360 and 720) was reduced from 1080 to 2, providing a massive performance boost for the scene.PR created automatically by Jules for task 6008278064490697266 started by @jason420247
