👋 Hi, I'm Abdelrahman Mohamed — The Geeky Doctor

Physician • AI Engineer • Oncology Researcher Bringing medicine, data science, and artificial intelligence together.

🧠 About Me

I'm a medical graduate from Alexandria, Egypt 🇪🇬 working at the intersection of medicine, artificial intelligence, and data science.

I believe the future of healthcare will be built by people who understand both medicine and technology — and that's exactly what I'm working toward.

Currently I am:

  • 🧑‍💻 AI Engineering trainee building real-world AI systems
  • 🔬 Oncology researcher collaborating with physicians at SUN Cancer Center (Alexandria)
  • 🚀 Clinician Engineer at Onion AI (UK)
  • 📚 Teaching machine learning & data science to physicians

My work focuses mainly on:

  • Oncology
  • Radiology
  • Medical AI
  • Clinical data science
  • Machine learning systems

🚀 Current Focus

Right now I am focused on building AI systems for medicine.

Some of the things I'm working on:

  • 🧠 Medical RAG systems for clinical knowledge retrieval
  • 📊 Clinical data analysis pipelines
  • 🧬 AI applications in oncology research
  • ⚙️ Backend systems for AI applications (FastAPI + databases)
  • 🧪 Experimenting with LLM tools for medical education

I recently built my first Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system for medical textbooks.

More projects coming soon.

📚 Research

I have 20+ scientific publications spanning:

  • Oncology
  • Radiology
  • Artificial Intelligence in medicine
  • Clinical data analysis

I enjoy turning clinical questions into data-driven research problems.

🧑‍🏫 Teaching

I also teach machine learning and data science for physicians.

Over the years I have:

  • Mentored hundreds of physicians
  • Helped students transition into AI and data science careers
  • Taught doctors preparing for research positions and graduate programs

My goal is to help more clinicians become builders, not just users of AI.

🛠️ Tech Stack

Languages

  • Python
  • R (learning)

Data Science & ML

  • Pandas
  • NumPy
  • Scikit-learn
  • PyTorch
  • TensorFlow

Data & Backend

  • PostgreSQL
  • FastAPI
  • REST APIs

Tools I Use

  • Git / GitHub
  • Jupyter

🧩 Philosophy

I may not be the best engineer in the room, but I aim to be the doctor who understands engineering well enough to build impactful systems for medicine.

My mission is simple:

Build technology that helps doctors make better decisions.

🎲 Fun Fact

I write poetry as often as I write code.

Both are ways of making sense of the world.
