Hey Raivo! 👋

First of all — I just want to say that Crooked Rails is genuinely one of the most unique and interesting projects I've stumbled upon in a long time. I came here from Flavortown, and this project immediately caught my eye. It's not like anything else out there, and that's exactly what makes it special.

🎉 What this PR does

This PR adds an Apache License 2.0 file (LICENSE) to the repository, with copyright attributed to you (Raivo, 2026).

💬 Why I'm proposing this

I'm in absolute awe of the scale of work you've put into this project — 240+ hours of development, and all of that on a 12-year-old PC. That's not just impressive, that's a genuine feat of dedication and passion. Seriously, hats off to you. 🙌

Right now, the repo doesn't have a license, which means legally, nobody can use, modify, or contribute to your code — even with the best intentions. Adding a license fixes that.

I'm suggesting Apache 2.0 because:

  • ✅ It protects your authorship and hard work
  • ✅ It allows the community to build on top of your project
  • ✅ It's permissive but still keeps your name and credit intact
  • ✅ It's widely recognized and trusted in open-source

Of course, this is just a suggestion — if you'd prefer MIT, GPL, or any other license (or no license at all), that's completely your call! I'm happy to update this PR to whatever you prefer. No pressure whatsoever. 😊

🖥️ Performance Testing Offer

I tested your build on my setup:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5070

The good news: FPS is consistently high (165+ fps) — your HDRP work clearly scales well on modern hardware! 🚀

However, I did notice some micro-stutters and occasional frame-time spikes that are worth investigating. These kinds of issues on high-end hardware are usually related to shader compilation, GC pressure, or asset streaming — and they're very fixable!

I'd love to help you profile and optimize the game if you're interested. I'm happy to:

  • Run GPU/CPU profiler captures and share the results
  • Help identify bottleneck hotspots
  • Test specific scenes or mechanics under load
  • Provide detailed frame timing data

No strings attached — I just genuinely want to see this project shine on modern systems. 💪

Thanks again for sharing something so creative and unexpected with the world, Raivo. Keep building — this project deserves all the attention it can get! 🎮
