Welcome to Pocket Reader! This easy-to-use browser extension lets you listen to web pages instead of reading them. If you find it tiring to read blocks of text, this tool is for you. Follow the steps below to download and set up Pocket Reader.
Before you install, ensure your system meets these requirements:
- Operating System: Windows 10 or later, macOS, or any modern Linux distribution.
- Browser: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge.

Visit the Releases Page: Go to the Releases page for Pocket Reader.

Find the Latest Version: Look for the most recent version listed. It usually has the highest number.

Download the Extension:
- Click on the link for the extension suitable for your browser. Follow the prompts to start your download.

Install the Extension:
- For Chrome: Open Chrome. Click on the three dots in the corner, go to "More tools," and select "Extensions." Drag and drop the downloaded file into this window.
- For Firefox: Open Firefox. Click on the three horizontal lines in the corner, then select "Add-ons." Drag and drop the downloaded file here.
- For Edge: Open Edge. Click on the three dots in the corner, select "Extensions," and then drag your downloaded file into this area.

Enable Pocket Reader: Once installed, ensure the extension is enabled. You may need to pin it to your browser for easy access.

Start Using It: Open any web page. Click on the Pocket Reader icon in your browser’s toolbar and start listening!
Pocket Reader offers several helpful features:
- Read Aloud: Convert text on any web page to speech.
- Text Highlight: See the text as it's being read.
- Adjustable Speed: Change how fast or slow the text is read.
- Voice Selection: Choose from different voice options for a more personalized experience.
Using Pocket Reader is straightforward. After installation, simply click on the extension icon whenever you want to read a web page. A small window will pop up with options to customize your reading experience.
- Highlight Text: To read specific sections, highlight the text you want to be read aloud.
- Play/Pause: Use the play and pause buttons to control the reading.
- Speed and Voice Selection: Navigate to settings by clicking the gear icon within the Pocket Reader interface.
If you encounter issues:
- Extension Not Working: Ensure it is enabled in your browser's extension settings.
- Audio Issues: Check your system volume and audio settings.
