Description

Thanks to the imminent arrival of the heat, I have designed this hand fan, usable in everyday situations when you need some air to cool yourself. The advantages of using this fan are:

  • Very portable due to its small size
  • Does not require any batteries or charging
  • Intuitive and simple to use
  • (possibly) Adjustable speed setting can help not disturb others (slower speed is quieter)
  • Better than having nothing at all!

Components

1. Handle

A simple handle that acts a support for the fan and also contains the "powering" mechanism for the fan (a classic crank). It is fit for smaller and larger hands alike.

2. Crank

An ordinary crank that interacts with a mechanism that spins the fan blades. Inspiration: https://www.printables.com/model/864912-hand-crank-for-the-pastamatic

3. Set of gears

Two or more gears that create the spinning of the actual fan. Possible addition: a feature (like a switch) that shifts the gears, allowing the user to choose between a slower or a faster fan speed.

4. Fan

A fan that aims to be as quiet, but also as efficient as possible. Inspiration: https://www.printables.com/model/36539-fan-blades-replacement

About

A personally modeled handheld fan that is perfect for days when the weather is unbearably hot. Modeled in Autodesk Fusion, this is my final project for my 3D Modeling and Printing course.
