MovieApp 🎬

A simple and responsive movie search application built with React, using The Movie Database (TMDb) API to fetch and display movies. The app allows users to search for movies, view movie details, and get a glimpse of trailers on hover.

Installation 📦

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone https://github.com/yourusername/movieapp.git
   cd movieapp
   

2. Install dependencies:

   npm install
   

3. Create a .env file in the root of the project and add your API key for TMDb:

      VITE_TMDB_API_KEY=your_tmdb_api_key
      VITE_APPWRITE_PROJECT_ID=your_appwrite_project_id
      VITE_APPWRITE_DATABASE_ID=your_appwrite_database_id
      VITE_APPWRITE_COLLECTION_ID=your_appwrite_collection_id

4. Run the app:

     npm run dev

5. Open http://localhost:3000 in your browser.

API Integration 📡

This app uses the TMDb API to fetch movie data. It also uses Appwrite for tracking search frequency and managing trending movies.

• Search Movies: Uses /search/movie API endpoint from TMDb.
• Trending Movies: Managed by Appwrite's database with search counts.

• Add user authentication (sign up / login)
• Allow users to save favorite movies
• Implement pagination for movie results
• Add more filters (genre, year, etc.) to search
