Why does the Storage Account domain join functionality still use the DSC extension when the recommendation is to move to Machine Configuration?
As of 2025-03-03, Machine Configuration does not yet support secrets management. See https://learn.microsoft.com/azure/governance/machine-configuration/whats-new/migrating-from-dsc-extension: "The DSC extension included privateSettings where secrets could be passed to the configuration, such as passwords or shared keys. Secrets management hasn't yet been implemented for machine configuration."
