Of course you should have the latest version of the core, this makes sure you have all the necessary variables.
Don't have the latest version yet? Don't worry! With v1.1.1 of castlecss-breadcrumbs we now include a variables.scss file with !default flags so your Grunt/Gulp/Webpack doesn't bread when compiling your SCSS!
