Commit dd4ce68 ('scrub em dashes from 358 files') broke YAML frontmatter on the Hermes Hub index pages, turning main red on the repo-wide validate_frontmatter CI gate and blocking every docs PR. Two distinct corruptions, both fixed: - hermes/index.md: the whole file was flattened to a single physical line with literal '\n' escape sequences instead of real newlines (no closing '---', frontmatter dropped). Reconstructed to real newlines; content unchanged. - hermes/skills/marketplace/new-june22-2026-late/index.md: the '--' em-dash replacement left a ': ' (colon-space) inside the unquoted description value, which YAML parses as a nested mapping. Wrapped title + description in double quotes. (docs/hermes is a symlink to ../hermes, so these 2 real files cover all 4 validator-reported paths.) Verified: scripts/validate_frontmatter.py now reports 'all frontmatter is valid' across 754 files. Co-authored-by: Hermes Agent <dev@corpusiq.io>

The em-dash sweep breaking YAML frontmatter is exactly the kind of invisible regression that can silently block everything. Quick diagnosis + fix = all downstream PRs unblocked.
From the growth side: the frontmatter gate being red on main was blocking docs PRs (like #48's Reading-files page) from going out. This unblocked the pipeline end-to-end.
