This page is a TMS-oriented guide to finding useful production files. For the authoritative list of DUNE ND production samples, use the official ND Production wiki:
If you have questions about specific files, try to see if they're in MetaCat. For example, this file is genie tune AR23_20i_00_000 using geometry version nd_hall_with_lar_tms_sand_drift1_v2026.03.06.gdml.
The notes below are meant to answer the practical TMS question: "Which files are useful if I want to run or test dune-tms locally?"
Current MicroProd and MiniProd samples are stored under:
/pnfs/dune/persistent/physicsgroups/dunendsim/abooth/nd-production/
As of this writing, relevant productions include:

See the official production samples page for what each production contains, which geometry/software versions were used, and which samples are considered current.
When changing dune-tms, the most useful inputs are usually spill-like edep-sim files. These are already grouped into spill-like units and can be passed through local dune-tms processing to test detector simulation, reconstruction, and output changes.
For example, in MicroProdN4p1:
/pnfs/dune/persistent/physicsgroups/dunendsim/abooth/nd-production/MicroProdN4p1/run-spill-build/MicroProdN4p1_NDComplex_FHC.spill.full/
These files are useful when you want to process spills locally after making changes to dune-tms.
Individual edep-sim event files are also available. These are useful when you want lower-level inputs before spill building.
For MicroProdN4p1, fiducial ND-LAr events are located in subdirectories like:
/pnfs/dune/persistent/physicsgroups/dunendsim/abooth/nd-production/MicroProdN4p1/run-edep-sim/MicroProdN4p1_NDComplex_FHC.edep.ndlarfid/
Anti-fiducial events, including interactions in the TMS and rock muons, are located in subdirectories like:
/pnfs/dune/persistent/physicsgroups/dunendsim/abooth/nd-production/MicroProdN4p1/run-edep-sim/MicroProdN4p1_NDComplex_FHC.edep.rockantindlarfid/
Terminology:
- fiducial: events on ND-LAr argon
- anti-fiducial: events outside the ND-LAr fiducial argon region, including TMS interactions and rock muons
Spill-specific TMS reconstruction output is located in run-tms-reco subdirectories. For example:
/pnfs/dune/persistent/physicsgroups/dunendsim/abooth/nd-production/MicroProdN4p1/run-tms-reco/MicroProdN4p1_NDComplex_FHC.tmsreco.full/TMSRECO/
These files are useful when you want existing TMS output rather than rerunning dune-tms yourself.
For a production such as MicroProdN4p1, the common directory pattern is:

The exact subdirectory names encode the detector configuration, horn current, sample type, and stage. For example:

The samples below are older, special-purpose, or user-produced datasets. They may still be useful for reproducing older studies, checking geometry changes, or comparing against historical plots, but they should not be treated as the default place to look for current production samples. Prefer the official ND production area above unless you specifically need one of these samples.
