Bicep Deployments

This repository contains Bicep modules, deployment scripts, and lab deployments to help you manage your Azure infrastructure as code.

Getting Started

To get started with deploying Bicep templates, follow these steps:

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone https://github.com/DWBatmanPS/Bicep_Deployments.git

2. Install Bicep CLI: Follow the instructions here to install the Bicep CLI.

Templating structure

There are two main folder structures. The first is the module folder structure where individual bicep modules are stored. The second is the Lab_Deployments folder where the individual lab structures are stored. Each individual lab environment consists of a readme.md file, a placeholder file for a diagram image and a src folder which contains the actual bicep templates. This contains a main.bicep and a main.bicepparam folder. The intention is to store all sensitive data in the bicepparam file for local data security reasons. The main.bicep file stores all of the individual module references.

Deploying Bicep Templates

There are preexisting powershell scripts built to create, update, deploy and manage individual Bicep Labs. The scripts assume that you are running PowerShell 5.1 and have Azure Powershell and Bicep installed. There are several shell scripts and Powershell scripts as well. The script has several options for changing the deployment via switches. Example syntax usage can be found below.
