gotk4 is a very impressive project, but it is way too limited. I've had to use a ton of bizarre workarounds in order to get around the lack of subclassing, for example. So I'm experimentally rewriting the entire UI in C manually with a thin Go wrapper that will let me pass data into and out of the UI. I've been thinking about this idea for a while (In fact, moving the UI into
internal/uiwas originally part of some very basic plans for something like this...), but #230 and a few other things pushed me over the edge.Closes #230.
