## agentic-chaos Development Reference

## Ecosystem Context

### Role in DeepAgentLabs

`agentic-chaos` is the resilience and failure-validation package in the
DeepAgentLabs ecosystem. It deliberately injects faults into LLM and agent
workflows so teams can measure degraded behavior, recovery quality, and failure
impact before those issues appear in production.

### Owns

- Fault models, injection primitives, chaos sessions, and experiment-oriented
resilience evidence
- Chaos-specific artifacts that can be exported as AI Operations Specification
objects
- Adapters that let external systems observe or consume chaos events without
taking ownership of the chaos logic itself

### Does Not Own

- The canonical schema or shared runtime contract — that belongs in
`ai-operations-spec`
- General observability, profiling, or evaluation workflows — those belong in
`agenticlens`
- Agent-governance or pre-action intervention logic — that belongs in
`agentic-sidecar`
- A broad orchestration or control-plane surface — that belongs in
`deep-agentic-core-mcp`

### Integrates With

- `ai-operations-spec` for shared object shapes, evidence compatibility, and
export boundaries
- `agenticlens` for analyzing chaos outcomes as part of operational evidence
- `deep-agentic-core-mcp` when chaos capabilities need to be exposed through an
MCP-native interface
- `agentic-sidecar` only at explicit coordination boundaries, such as evaluating
how an agent responds to induced failure

### Current Roadmap Focus

The next major step is structured experiment reports with provenance and
synthetic resilience scenarios. Changes in this repo should move the package
toward reproducible resilience evidence, not just ad hoc fault injection.

### Before You Build Here

- Put new shared concepts or cross-package object definitions in
`ai-operations-spec` first if they are meant to be ecosystem-wide
- Reuse `agenticlens` for analysis and reporting patterns instead of rebuilding
a second observability layer here
- Keep integrations thin: this package should generate and describe failure,
not become the dashboard, policy engine, or universal runtime abstraction
