A switch to scikit-build-core was necessary since numpy.distutils got removed. This guarantees support for newer numpy versions, which support the latest Python distributions.
While trying to run a simulation, I also got
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named '_prosail_model'at line 26 in init.py.A relative import
from ._prosail_model import run as run_fortranfixed the problem.
