AIDA — AI-Driven Infrastructure for Autonomous health data governance. Public specification, integration patterns, and sovereign data architecture references for government and health authority partners.

Status

Active development. AIDA v1 targets health ministry and national health authority deployments in Africa and Southeast Asia.

What's here

  • spec/ — AIDA public specification and sovereign data architecture overview
  • governance/ — Governance framework + data sovereignty principles
  • integration/ — X-Road federation adapter + DHIS2 + OpenHIE integration guides
  • policy/ — Data residency and consent ledger policy templates

What AIDA does

AIDA is the sovereign data governance layer of the EvidenceOS platform. It enables health authorities to:

  • Deploy federated health data exchange without ceding data sovereignty to external vendors
  • Implement differential privacy and federated learning for multi-site AI model training
  • Maintain patient consent ledgers with cryptographic auditability
  • Interface with continental health data exchange standards (Africa CDC, WHO AFRO data architecture)
  • Govern AI model deployment decisions through a multi-stakeholder approval workflow

Architecture fit

AIDA sits at Layer F (Sovereign Infrastructure) of the EvidenceOS data source taxonomy:

F1: Federated Identity Layer
F2: Consent Ledger (append-only, immutable)
F3: Exchange Rails (X-Road-compatible + FHIR R4)
F4: Provider Registry
F5: AI Model Governance Registry

AIDA is the infrastructure that allows multiple health facilities and ministries to contribute to the EvidenceOS evidence ecosystem without exposing patient-level data to any central party.

PAATHI alignment

AIDA is the technical implementation layer for PAATHI (Pan-African Alliance for Trustworthy Health Intelligence) — the African-led governance institution incubated by EvidenceOS. AIDA's architecture is designed to be PAATHI-governed, not EvidenceOS-controlled.

See: paathi-network for institutional governance.
