What does Supported mean
In the FourJs Genero supported operating systems document http://www.4js.com/mirror/documentation.php?s=genero&f=fjs-genero-3.00.XX-PlatformsDb.pdf what does "supported" mean?
The answer is, is that in our QA labs we have a server of that name that we can use to build, test, and QA our products against. So if you are to report a problem, we are able to reproduce the problem, analyse the problem, fix the problem, and add QA tests to ensure the problem does not occur again.
You'll see an entry (**) that in the Legend has the phrase "Known to work". This is indicated for Microsoft Terminal Server and Citrix environments. We don't have a Microsoft Terminal Server or Citrix environment in our labs, so we aren't able to test and QA in that environment, hence why we can't say it is supported. That does not stop you using our products in that environment, and our expectation is that our products will work in that environment, and they do at some fairly large sites.. However if anything goes wrong, you have to rely on Microsoft or Citrix's assertion that if something works in a particular O/S it will work in Terminal Server or Citrix. If that does not hold true then you goto Microsoft or Citrix to resolve, not us.
A similar distinction could equally apply to the rarer flavours of Linux, the myriad of Android phones out there, and the rare internet browsers. We only have the supported flavours of Linux in our labs, we only have a certain number of phones in our labs, and the big 4 browsers. Whilst our product will most likely work just fine on a number of these, as we don't have them in our lab we can't put "supported" against them. If they pass your QA tests and you're happy, then you can use, but that is your decision.
