Hopper Cluster
We have access to a large supercomputing cluster here at GMU. You can SSH in and schedule jobs that use 48+ CPU cores and powerful GPUs. If you're running large simulation jobs for research with our group, see the ORC's Hopper Quick Start Guide for how to apply for access. Note that access requires a short training session and there is a learning curve. If the ORC wiki doesn't answer your question, ask us in Slack for more details.
Laptops
We recommend students bring their own laptops to use for things like coding and working with robots. Some projects may require a specific OS, but we've had students working with Windows, MacOS, and Linux distros like Ubuntu and Arch.
Lab Computers
We have two workstations at the moment. Both are used for controlling robots.
Dory (in FUSE 3404 "The Annex")
This is a workstation used for controlling the TurboPi swarm.
Specs: Ryzen 7 2700x, 32gb Ram, GTX 1080
Quanser Desktop (in FUSE 3403 "High Bay")
This computer is connected to the OptiTrack motion capture system and is setup to interface with the Quanser robotics lab, which consists of 5 ground robots and 2 drones.
