Joseph Antony Vaikath

Software Engineer at Red Hat, building backup and restore infrastructure for OpenShift and Kubernetes.

I contribute to OADP (OpenShift API for Data Protection), a Kubernetes operator that manages Velero for cluster backup and recovery. My work spans multi-cloud credential management, operator lifecycle, and data protection across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Currently working towards maintainership on Velero.

What I build

OADP Operator — Deploys and manages Velero on OpenShift with cloud-native authentication (STS, Workload Identity, WIF), multi-tenant backup, and VM backup support for OpenShift Virtualization.

OADP CLI — A kubectl plugin for managing OADP backup and restore operations from the command line.

Velero Backup Viz — Interactive visualization of Velero's backup controller processing flow.
