Certain tumours, such as “solid tumours” (a tumour which doesn’t contain any liquid or cysts), can be either benign or malignant. Malignant tumours are cancerous. They divide without control and invade other tissues nearby. They can also spread to other parts of body through blood and lymph system. A benign tumour is a non-cancerous tumour. This means the tumour does not invade nearby tissue or spread in the body and is therefore much less risky. However, certain benign tumours can still pose health risks and require treatment.
