MSNYC/README.md

Hi, I’m Mark 👋

Welcome. This GitHub is a place where I explore ideas, tools, and skills I’m actively developing.

About

I’m based in New York and work professionally in pharmaceutical marketing and advertising. Outside of that, I spend a lot of time learning—mostly by building small things, testing ideas, and seeing how systems behave when you actually use them.

I’m interested in clarity, balance, and understanding how complex things fit together, even when they don’t quite resolve cleanly.

What I’m Working On

  • AI and tooling

    • Experimenting with custom AI assistants and structured prompts
    • Exploring how language models interact with files, data, and workflows
    • Thinking about practical boundaries between assistants, automation, and agents
  • Python, R, and data

    • Scripts and small utilities for analysis, cleanup, and visualization
    • Learning data modeling and lightweight database patterns
    • Using code as a way to reason, not just produce output
  • Systems thinking

    • APIs, integrations, and middleware concepts
    • How information moves between tools and decisions
    • Designing before building

Other Interests

  • Data visualization and basic physics concepts
  • Drawing, cartooning, and writing
  • Podcasting and audio-focused projects
  • Menswear construction and knitting
  • Single-player games and narrative systems
  • Language study (French, Italian, Spanish, German)
  • Long walks with a very good dog 🐾

Tools & Skills

  • Python, R, scripting, data workflows
  • AI tooling and experimentation
  • Strategy, planning, and communication
  • Design and visual thinking

This space is intentionally a work in progress.
