Upon review, Docker would be good for deployment of the entire system, but it's use for development is limited, especially with how we currently set up the repository environment. This ticket is being closed as not a viable alternative to virtual machines, but can be re-opened if others with more understanding of the source files and the underlying mechanics can translate into docker commands
