Summary

  • Integrate the post-CRAN package development (version 0.1.0.9000), including generated-column/API refinements, GMC predictors, prepared-data summaries, covariance recovery updates, and the compare_nested_models() rename.
  • Add and revise the 2026 Charité Summer School workshop slide decks, exercises, tracked datasets, setup/support scripts, and teaching materials.
  • Keep the Quarto and R Markdown sources authoritative: Actions now regenerate workshop slides, vignette articles, PDF exports, and the combined ZIP instead of tracking generated HTML.
  • Remove the remaining generated standalone dev HTML and refresh development notes for the accepted v0.1.0 release and current public API.

User and developer impact

  • The workshop remains available at the stable pkgdown workshop URL.
  • Workshop-related changes rebuild and validate both HTML slide decks, PDF exports, standalone exercise sources, datasets/support files, and the combined ZIP.
  • Package-only pushes to main preserve the already-published workshop directory during the clean pkgdown deployment instead of rerendering the workshop.
  • Pull requests whose complete diff includes workshop materials rebuild and validate those outputs without deploying them.
  • Package users receive the documented development-version API and data-preparation improvements.

Validation

  • Both workshop .qmd sources render successfully with no committed slide HTML present.
  • R CMD build --no-manual . succeeds and regenerates all four vignette HTML articles from their .Rmd sources.
  • The standalone paper-outline .Rmd renders successfully through all 17 chunks into a self-contained HTML file in a temporary directory.
  • Workflow YAML parsing, relative-link and ignore-rule checks, git diff --check, staged asset checks, and ZIP-integrity checks pass locally.

Before merge

  • Review package implementation, API, tests, manuals, and example-data changes.
  • Remove and ignore the accidental tracked Rplots.pdf.
  • Delete .github/workflows/workshop-draft.yaml.
  • Remove generated workshop, vignette, and standalone developer HTML from version control and ignore regenerated copies.
  • Refresh stale pre-CRAN, API-name, and DSM-status development notes.
  • After merging, verify the exact main pkgdown run, downstream Pages deployment, stable URLs, and ZIP manifest.
