The Mirror Pool

What you see in this world and its reflection are not the same.

The Mirror Pool is a kitsune tile-swap puzzle game with dual-world mechanics — the solution that works in this world may not be the one the reflection shows you.

What It Is

A browser-based puzzle game built on Japanese folklore. Players swap tiles to solve puzzles that exist simultaneously in two states — the visible world and its mirror reflection — which don't always match. A nine-tails kitsune progression system tracks your advancement, and a favor/curse mechanic rewards or complicates play based on how you treat the spirit world.

Seven environmental themes shift the visual tone as you progress deeper into the puzzle set.

Features

  • Dual-world tile mechanics — visible world and mirror reflection interact independently
  • Nine-tails kitsune progression — advancement tied to mastery
  • Favor / Curse system — your choices have spiritual consequences
  • Seven environmental themes — distinct visual palettes across the puzzle set
  • Single-file HTML — no install, no account, no data collection
