The first commit only changes when a feature is count as updated, so now only splited features are counted.
The second commit updates the selection to better reflect which features have been updated. In order to update the Attribute Table, the layer needs to be reloaded and doing so can take some time if the table is opened and contains several thousands records.

Newly created features of now added to the selection and previously selected features with only one part are deselected allowing the user to easily see where changes were made.
Note that the layer needs to be reloaded in order to update the Attribute Table. This can cause a significant delay with several thousands features if the table is opened.
