SC3K Modern Camera

SC3K Modern Camera gives SimCity 3000 Unlimited a more familiar camera setup by adding a few missing features.

Installation

Download and unzip the latest release.

Place SC3K-ModernCamera.dll in your SimCity 3000 Unlimited Apps folder:

...\Steam\steamapps\common\SimCity 3000 Unlimited\Apps\

The mod creates its settings and log files in:

Documents\SimCity\SC3K-ModernCamera\

Features

• ZOOM with the mouse wheel!
• Pan the city with WASD (Hold Shift to move faster).
• Grab the map and move it by holding Middle Mouse (M3) and dragging.
• Rotate the camera with Q and E.

Special commands

Open the cheat box (CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+C) and enter one of these:

• ModernCamera - switch between Modern and Classic camera mode.
• ModernCameraReload - reload the settings file from disk.
• ModernCameraDump - write a diagnostic snapshot to the mod log.
• ModernWASD - enable/disable WASD movement
• ModernQE - enable/disable Q/E rotation
• ModernZoom - enable/disable mouse-wheel zoom
• ModernPan - enable/disable middle-mouse pan
• InvertQE or InvertM3Pan: reverse those controls
• WASDMoveSpeed 1.0: set WASD movement speed
• WASDTurboAmt 100: set how strong Shift turbo is
• WASDZoomRatio 1:2: set movement speed at each zoom level
• ModernCameraReset: reset to the default Modern Camera setup

Maybe later

This mod relies on sc3k-gzcom-dll, so future updates to that project may open the door to more polished settings, better UI integration, configurable key bindings, and extra camera controls. Those are possibilities, not promises yet. The goal is to keep the existing camera controls dependable first.
