We didn’t set Vim as the default due to anticipated support issues, and I have a similar concern about Emacs during onboarding.
Currently, we ask participants to use VS Code as their default editor for onboarding (1) since it’s generally more accessible for learners.
That said, if you prefer Emacs, we’re happy to accommodate.
