Weekend Software, LLC is proud to present our fourth Genesis39 Project release.

The Genesis project exists to provide firmware for wireless routers that automatically blocks pornography and other objectionable websites without being overbearing. By installing this firmware, all computers, laptops, tablets, phones, and other devices connected to your wireless router will be protected by OpenDNS's Family Shield service.

Supported Wireless Routers

• TP-LINK Archer C7

Features:

• Force all web traffic to use OpenDNS Family Shield.
• Cache the most recent 4096 DNS requests to greatly improve DNS lookup speed.
• Redirects all time server requests to the router to reduce internet traffic and decrease latency.
• Preconfigured Guest network that is restricted to internet only traffic.

Preconfigured WiFi Networks

• Genesis39
  • Use this for highly trusted devices that need to communicate with one another.
    • Laptops, Printers, NAS (Network Attached Storage), Roku, ChromeCast, FireStick, etc..
  • Devices connected to this network can manage your wireless router.
  • Devices on this network can communicate with one another and the internet.
• Genesis39-Guest
  • Use this for all other devices.
  • Devices connected to this network may only access the internet.
  • Devices on this network are not allowed to manage your wireless router.

Installation

• New Installation
  • Log into your router and upload archer-c7-v2-squashfs-factory-us.bin using the same process you would use if you were upgrading the factory firmware.
• Existing Installation (Upgrading from previous Genesis 39 Releases)
  • Use archer-c7-v2-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin to upgrade your device.
