Current stage

Answer-first Evidence Research Workbench — local Commercial Research Beta release candidate.

PR #113 remains open and draft on codex/personal-research-mode-mvp. Current pushed HEAD: 9cec5c577c8c3fd8deda17cacd2eb5641a44ee5b. Exact-head CI run 31022144893 passed local-engineering-gate in 19m12s. Do not merge or deploy publicly.

The product is research-only. It is not investment advice, a broker, an order-routing or auto-trading system, a hosted production product, a calibrated prediction product, or independently validated current-market evidence.

Primary workflow

Research Desk -> Discover -> Company Workbench -> Monitor

One Personal Research shell

Personal Research now has one visible top page-navigation authority. The sidebar keeps the Personal/Public/Operator workspace selector and selected profile caption, but no longer repeats the four Research page choices. The Research main column no longer renders the Operator command/readiness header or broad profile strip before the route answer.

Direct URLs, ticker query parameters, the Public and Operator shells, and secondary Data Health/Proof History evidence routes remain unchanged. This is presentation-only: no calculation, data, readiness, authoring, evidence-identity, threshold, or source-rights contract changed.

The simplified shell exposed two weak browser waits that had been matching global Data Health and Proof History links rather than route-owned content. Those waits now use each route's own answer surface. The clean browser matrix passed after the repair.

Research Desk: Today's Research Brief

Research Desk starts with one read-only Today's Research Brief answering what saved work needs attention, the first traceable saved reason, the saved-readiness warning, and one Monitor-or-Discover action. A zero-item state is limited to loaded workspace evidence and does not claim that no external event exists. Supporting weekly, cohort, observation, coverage, and source-change evidence stays under Advanced Evidence.

Discover truth separation

  • Screen eligibility — when supported keeps the unchanged strict Momentum + Valuation + fundamental-safeguard evidence intersection. Missing provenance, rights, recency, field scope, valuation history, or finite inputs withholds eligibility. Thresholds were not relaxed.
  • Browse saved companies is an alphabetical readiness-only evidence-access list. Browsing is not eligibility, ranking, opportunity scoring, expected return, or a recommendation.

Company Workbench primary brief

Company Workbench starts with one Company Brief answering Use now, Still withheld, What changed, and Next research task. Trend, valuation, scenario, Decision Lab, authoring, methodology, conclusion-detail, raw-evidence, and offline-HTML modules appear only after Open evidence and analysis modules. The disclosure is session-local and cannot change canonical data or readiness.

Monitor Follow-up Queue

Monitor answers one question through one Follow-up Queue: Since last review, Needs verification, Waiting on evidence, Scheduled context, and Evidence freshness. Its fail-closed zero state appears once and returns to Discover. Complete process rows, stable identities, and source-change evidence remain under Advanced: Monitor evidence.

Current local verification

  • focused shared-shell/release suites: 1,262 passed, then final documentation contract suite: 197 passed
  • full repository suite: 6,336 passed, 1 existing dependency deprecation warning
  • make dashboard-smoke: passed
  • make research-dashboard-render-smoke: all six Research routes passed
  • make research-accessibility-browser-check: all 12/12 six-route/two-viewport cases passed at 1280x720 and 390x844; exact route/H1/main identity, focus, same-document rerun, away/return navigation, forced colors, reduced motion, no overflow, no browser/runtime errors, and repository identity passed
  • make public-wording-check: passed after removing one internal PR reference from public ROADMAP wording
  • make public-performance-gate: 60/60 passed
  • make public-check: passed, including its independent 6,336-test run and dashboard/share checks
  • make pilot-readiness-check TOP_N=10: executed successfully and truthfully remained blocked/manual where evidence is incomplete
  • diff/staged hygiene and git diff --check: passed
  • exactly 18 pre-existing generated CSV/report/output paths remained unstaged and byte-identical

Pilot and source truth

Pilot readiness is not green:

  • saved readiness artifacts are working_artifact_uncommitted; use the approved no-write preview before any separately approved rebuild
  • source-proof queue currently reports 12,116 blocked and 97 partial items across the checked lanes
  • the reviewed proof ledger exists, but its latest recorded price-history batch remains still_blocked
  • current engineering checks do not establish source rights, current-market completeness, hosted operation, human accessibility, independent adoption, or calibration

Quant and investing boundary

Calculation software supports indicators, returns and relative strength, drawdown, volatility, beta, Sharpe/Sortino, DCF/scenarios, strict Momentum + Valuation eligibility, Historical Valuation Regime, deterministic Nowcast contracts, walk-forward testing, and fail-closed calibration methodology.

No operational daily candidate list is claimed without rights-qualified current price lineage, historical valuation evidence, eligible fundamentals, and comparable snapshots. Real-company Earnings Nowcast remains blocked without permitted point-in-time consensus. Numerical Beat/Miss probability remains withheld without sufficient leakage-safe out-of-sample events and passing calibration evidence.

No recommendation ranking, expected-return score, sizing, allocation, live holdings, broker integration, order routing, auto-trading, stop-loss/take-profit instruction, post-earnings price prediction, or direct buy/sell instruction exists.

Next executable stages

  1. Close this slice only after exact-head CI succeeds and branch/PR identity is rechecked.
  2. Audit the remaining Stage 6 zoom/reflow and independent-human accessibility evidence gap without treating automated browser evidence as WCAG or screen-reader proof.
  3. Prepare, but do not fabricate, the 10–20-session independent workflow protocol and recruit target-persona reviewers externally.
  4. Activate one bounded permitted price-history plus historical-valuation package only after separate source-rights review.
  5. Continue exact-period consensus, genuinely reviewed peers, hosted private-workspace controls, and calibration only when their external evidence exists.

Remaining external gates

  • one permitted, independently reviewed point-in-time benchmark/universe package with corporate-action, delisting, survivorship, and leakage controls
  • one permitted exact-period consensus source and genuinely reviewed peer relationships
  • hosted identity, private-workspace isolation, audit, retention, monitoring, backup, recovery, rollback, incident response, and named owner capacity
  • independent human accessibility and assistive-technology review beyond automated browser evidence
  • 10–20 independent target-persona workflow sessions; current count remains zero
  • sufficient valid leakage-safe out-of-sample calibration evidence before numerical probability exposure
  • a separate approved design before any hypothetical paper-position laboratory; live brokerage remains permanently out of scope

Stop rule

Keep this PR open and draft. Local tests, automated browser evidence, synthetic fixtures, screenshots, and temporary performance output are engineering evidence only. They do not prove source rights, current data, hosted operation, human accessibility conformance, independent adoption, calibration, commercial demand, or product-market fit.

Verified implementation update — quarterly cash-generation evidence

Implemented the approved no-file design across four coherent commits:

  • 1089f58f8 adds the in-memory, fail-closed observation and derivation contract.
  • e11c698fa composes operating margin, free cash flow, and FCF margin independently from Revenue and EPS.
  • b6b8a3217 renders all five quarterly business-trend answers in Company Workbench while keeping source references and formulas under Advanced evidence.
  • 603985d5a updates methodology, provenance, Personal Research guidance, ROADMAP, and the persistent continuation goal.

Evidence and safety boundaries

  • Free cash flow preserves the reported capital-expenditure sign: cash from operations plus reported capital expenditures.
  • Q4 requires explicit filed-quarter evidence; annual-minus-nine-month derivation remains forbidden.
  • Ambiguous revisions and incompatible definitions block only the affected component.
  • Revenue, EPS, operating margin, free cash flow, FCF margin, valuation, consensus, catalysts, outcomes, backtesting, and calibration remain independent.
  • Production values remain withheld until a reviewed real-company quarterly source adapter exists. Synthetic observations remain test-only.
  • No supplemental CSV, JSON, data file, writer, template, report, sample report, screenshot, timing output, Make target, or generated artifact was added or staged.

Verification

  • Focused contract/workspace/docs tests: 77 passed.
  • Full suite: 2,746 passed; one existing dateutil deprecation warning.
  • Dashboard smoke: passed.
  • Research render smoke: Research Desk, Discover, Company Workbench, and Monitor passed.
  • Public wording and public checks: passed.
  • Commercial beta contract and release checks: passed.
  • Clean-tree pilot readiness: pilot-ready with manual gates.
  • Staged and diff hygiene: passed with zero generated-artifact candidates.
  • Branch is clean and aligned with origin/codex/personal-research-mode-mvp.

Product and market-maturity assessment

This is a meaningful methodology-maturity improvement: Company Workbench can now distinguish operating profitability from cash conversion, preserves source lineage, and gives a clearer answer-first research workflow. It improves reliability, extensibility, and reviewer trust.

It does not prove real-company coverage, licensed source operation, hosted reliability, reviewer adoption, commercial demand, calibration quality, product-market fit, or market validation. The product remains a local Commercial Research Beta release candidate.

Exact next executable step

Continue with a local one-company quarterly source-adapter acceptance contract using reviewed explicit inputs and no broad coverage refresh. Actual real-company activation remains external_source_and_review_required; point-in-time consensus remains external_data_required. Keep this PR draft.

Verified implementation update — quarterly cash-generation adapter acceptance

Implemented and pushed a one-company, in-memory acceptance harness for prospective quarterly cash-generation adapters.

What is now covered

  • Exact one-ticker and one-source identity checks
  • Commercial-use rights approval plus explicit rights for operating_income, cash_from_operations, and capital_expenditures
  • Existing cutoff, revision, component compatibility, Revenue compatibility, and explicit-Q4 evidence contracts
  • At least one complete period containing operating margin, free cash flow, and FCF margin
  • Deterministic fail-closed blockers and independent readiness state

Boundary preserved

  • Success means accepted_for_review, never production activation
  • Current checked-in SEC Company Facts rights evidence does not list all three required cash-generation fields, so that adapter remains blocked
  • No file, network, CLI, Make, broad-refresh, or generated-artifact surface was added
  • No CSV, JSON, report, or sample-report output is produced
  • Real activation remains external_source_and_review_required

Verification

  • python3 -m pytest tests -q: 2,764 passed, 1 existing deprecation warning
  • Dashboard smoke, four-route research render smoke, public wording, public check, commercial beta checks, release check, pilot readiness, diff hygiene, and git diff --check: passed
  • Pilot status: ready with explicit manual gates
  • Generated artifact churn: zero

Commits: 9a2d6b794, e9de1ca33.

Verified mobile Personal Research first-action density update:

  • Research Desk, Discover, Company Workbench, and Monitor now expose their primary phone task sooner.
  • All five profile facts remain visible in two phone rows.
  • Only duplicated route-card freshness is suppressed on phone.
  • Company Workbench keeps the complete review path available in a collapsed disclosure after Selected Company.
  • Desktop profile and route metadata remain unchanged.
  • Readiness, source dates, evidence, valuation, forecasts, catalysts, outcomes, backtesting, and calibration states are unchanged.
  • Fresh full suite: 2767 passed (one existing dateutil deprecation warning).
  • Dashboard smoke, all four Research render routes, public wording, public check, commercial-beta checks, release check, pilot readiness, whitespace, and hygiene gates passed.
  • Clean-tree pilot verdict: pilot-ready with manual gates.
  • No generated CSV, JSON, report, sample-report, screenshot, or timing churn was staged.
  • Commits: 2c4764e, edb86a0, 4bd071e, 8df949d, aec9ad2.

PR remains draft. This improves local usability maturity; it does not prove permitted source activation, hosted reliability, external reviewer demand, calibration quality, commercial demand, or product-market fit.

Verified reliability follow-up — declared-date readiness freshness:

  • Root cause: pilot/read-batch freshness used file mtimes only, while selected-profile and project status also compared declared source dates with the saved readiness build.
  • Shared freshness now fails closed when declared source dates are newer, even if checkout/restore mtimes appear current.
  • This alignment propagates through pilot packaging and every reviewed-batch consumer without rebuilding data.
  • Current truthful state: the saved readiness snapshot is stale; clean-tree pilot verdict is blocked on Readiness freshness.
  • I did not run make readiness because that would generate CSV/report churn outside this slice and conflict with the explicit no-new-CSV instruction.
  • Fresh focused regression set passed.
  • Fresh full suite: 2769 passed (one existing dateutil deprecation warning).
  • Dashboard smoke, all four Research render routes, public wording, public check, commercial-beta checks, release check, staged hygiene, whitespace, and diff hygiene passed.
  • Zero generated CSV, JSON, report, sample-report, screenshot, or timing artifacts were staged.
  • Commit: b28833626.

PR remains draft. The branch is safe for code review, but the pilot package must not be called ready until an intentional reviewed readiness rebuild is authorized and its generated diff is inspected.

Verified slice: no-write readiness impact preview

  • Added explicit no-write universe and readiness build modes while preserving existing write defaults.
  • Added make readiness-preview TOP_N=20. It compares stable saved-versus-proposed readiness states in memory, prints capped changes, disables bytecode writes, and creates no CSV, JSON, report, screenshot, timing, directory, or output artifact.
  • Stale pilot readiness remains blocked and now routes to the preview for inspection. The preview does not make saved readiness current and does not authorize the separate reviewed rebuild.
  • Live preview: 3,538 saved rows versus 3,541 proposed rows; 652 tickers have stable-field changes. Proposed fundamentals-ready and DCF-ready movement remains inspection evidence only, not current readiness or source-correctness proof.
  • Focused verification: 91 passed. Full suite: 2,777 passed with the existing dateutil warning. Dashboard smoke, all four Personal Research route renders, public wording, public-check, commercial-beta-check, commercial-beta-release-check, browser evidence, pilot gate, whitespace, and hygiene completed successfully.
  • Pilot readiness remains truthfully blocked by stale saved readiness. External consensus, hosting, reviewers, source/reviewer activation, calibration, and operated controls remain separately classified and incomplete.
  • Generated artifact hygiene: zero CSV, JSON, report, sample-report, screenshot, or timing changes committed. An accidental local generated rewrite during a shell-sensitive documentation search was immediately detected and exactly restored before verification; final hygiene was clean.

Commits through 3fd088f. Branch is pushed and aligned. PR remains draft; do not merge.

Verified implementation update — Personal Research evidence detour continuity

Current verified HEAD: 9403d8440

What changed

  • Company Workbench Advanced Evidence links now keep Data Health and Proof History inside mode=research instead of switching the researcher into Public or Operator mode.
  • Both evidence detours preserve the selected ticker, including URL encoding for symbols such as BRK/B.
  • Each research evidence view now shows a primary Return to Company Workbench action before existing evidence content; missing ticker context returns to Research Desk rather than inventing a company.
  • Public and Operator routes remain unchanged. The navigation does not change readiness, record evidence, refresh data, promote blocked inputs, or expose Operator commands.
  • ROADMAP, Personal Research documentation, dashboard QA evidence, the continuation goal prompt, and documentation contracts were updated.

Verification

  • focused slice tests: 77 passed
  • full repository suite: 2,780 passed with one existing dateutil deprecation warning
  • dashboard smoke: passed
  • public render smoke: Home, Stock Selector, Single-Stock Report, Data Health, Proof History passed
  • Personal Research render smoke: Research Desk, Discover, Company Workbench, Monitor, Research Data Health, Research Proof History passed
  • public wording, public check, commercial beta, commercial beta release, pilot-readiness, diff hygiene, staged hygiene, and whitespace gates passed as applicable
  • pilot-readiness remains truthfully blocked by stale saved readiness and external evidence gates; no make readiness run was performed

Artifact and evidence boundary

  • generated CSV, JSON, report, sample-report, screenshot, and timing churn: 0
  • no screenshot was created; this slice proves route and render continuity only, not visual spacing, focus order, contrast, assistive-technology behavior, hosted behavior, or accessibility compliance
  • real-company Earnings Nowcast remains blocked until permitted point-in-time consensus exists
  • numerical Beat/Miss probability remains withheld until calibration evidence exists
  • EPS split basis and explicit Q4 evidence boundaries remain unchanged

Product maturity effect

This improves workflow-continuity maturity: a researcher can inspect blocked inputs or proof and return to the selected company without losing context or changing workspaces. It does not prove market demand, hosted reliability, source rights, external reviewer adoption, calibrated prediction, or product-market fit.

Next executable external lane

After one permitted reviewed point-in-time consensus CSV or configured rights-appropriate provider exists, run one bounded preview:

make earnings-consensus-collection-preview INPUT=<reviewed.csv> AS_OF=<timestamp>

Do not perform broad collection, record snapshots, rebuild readiness, or generate evidence artifacts without the separate reviewed input and approval boundary. Overall continuation remains active; this draft PR must not be merged or publicly deployed.

Verified reliability update — stale-readiness continuation routing

Current verified HEAD: adc94651d

What changed

  • Added one shared fail-closed continuation gate for current, stale, mixed, and missing selected-profile readiness.
  • Project Status now exposes the gate in human and JSON output. When readiness is stale, it suppresses broad price, source-proof, and coverage next steps and routes only to make readiness-preview TOP_N=20.
  • Provider Setup and Coverage Frontier preserve provider classifications and ranked opportunities as planning context only.
  • Auto-Refresh Status, its runbook, and the Commercial Research Beta release path now use the same inspection-only routing instead of advertising SEC or coverage execution from stale counts.
  • make readiness remains a separate intentional reviewed write. This slice did not run it.

Verification

  • Focused continuation, status, provider, coverage, scheduler, and docs suites passed.
  • Full repository suite: 2,791 passed, with the existing dateutil deprecation warning.
  • Dashboard smoke passed.
  • Personal Research render smoke passed for Research Desk, Discover, Company Workbench, Monitor, Research Data Health, and Research Proof History.
  • Public wording, public check, commercial-beta check, commercial-beta release check, pilot-readiness check, staged hygiene, diff hygiene, and whitespace checks completed successfully.
  • Clean-tree pilot verdict remains blocked only because selected-profile source dates are newer than saved readiness.
  • Branch is clean and aligned with origin/codex/personal-research-mode-mvp.

Artifact and product boundary

  • Generated CSV, JSON, readiness-report, stock-report, sample-report, screenshot, and timing churn: 0.
  • Readiness counts were not refreshed and no source row, rights decision, provider availability, forecast, probability, event, peer, outcome, or recommendation was created.
  • This improves operating reliability and reviewer trust. It does not prove source correctness, hosted operation, reviewer adoption, calibration, commercial demand, market validation, or product-market fit.

Remaining gates

Point-in-time consensus remains external_data_required; hosted preview remains external_account_required; beta validation remains external_reviewers_required; trusted peers and quarterly cash-generation activation remain external_source_and_review_required; calibration remains external_evidence_required; operated controls remain external_account_and_operations_required.

After a permitted reviewed consensus file exists, the exact bounded resume command remains:

make earnings-consensus-collection-preview INPUT=<reviewed.csv> AS_OF=<timestamp>

PR remains draft. Do not merge or deploy.

Verified follow-up — complete stale-readiness operator routing

Current verified HEAD: 54f3977d7

This follow-up closes the remaining source-preflight and Advanced Data Health bypasses after the earlier continuation-gate update.

Additional changes

  • Session Source Preflight now overlays selected-profile continuation routing in readable and JSON output without changing raw source availability evidence.
  • Existing source-specific non-retry reasons are preserved, and the stale-readiness broad-refresh/source-proof/readiness-rebuild stop set is appended.
  • Advanced Data Health provider and scheduler cards now derive freshness directly from the selected profile, even when the cached preflight predates this gate.
  • The next scheduler card routes to make readiness-preview TOP_N=20 while stale; scheduled operations remain planning context only.
  • ROADMAP, Data Strategy, Dashboard QA, and the persistent continuation prompt now cover these surfaces.

Verification

  • Focused source-preflight and dashboard suites passed, including a 1,035-test dashboard/operator run and a 1,091-test cross-surface run.
  • Full repository suite: 2,792 passed, with the existing dateutil deprecation warning.
  • Dashboard boot and all six Personal Research render routes passed.
  • Public wording, public check, commercial-beta check, commercial-beta release check, pilot-readiness check, staged hygiene, diff hygiene, and whitespace checks exited successfully.
  • Clean-tree pilot readiness remains blocked only by stale selected-profile readiness.
  • Tracked generated CSV/JSON/report/sample-report/screenshot/timing churn: 0.

Local cache disclosure

During live validation, make session-source-preflight rewrote the existing ignored outputs/session_source_preflight.json cache because that Make target includes --write-output. The cache is excluded by Git policy and was not staged or committed. No CSV was generated. Future validation should use direct no-write rendering or fixtures when the continuation contract prohibits JSON cache rewrites.

The product remains a local Commercial Research Beta release candidate. This improves operating reliability; it does not satisfy source, hosted, reviewer, calibration, market-validation, or operated-platform gates.

PR remains open and draft. Do not merge or deploy.

Final verified state for this continuation run

Current HEAD: 300b5f336

The stale-readiness continuation gate now covers Project Status, Session Source Preflight, Provider Setup, Coverage Frontier, Auto-Refresh Status and runbook, Advanced Data Health cards, machine-readable output, and the commercial-beta release path.

Final verification:

  • full suite: 2,792 passed
  • dashboard boot: passed
  • six Personal Research render routes: passed
  • public wording, public check, commercial-beta check, commercial-beta release check, pilot-readiness, staged hygiene, diff hygiene, and whitespace: passed
  • no-write readiness preview artifact fingerprint: unchanged
  • preview result: 3,538 saved rows vs 3,541 proposed; 652 stable-field changes; fundamentals-ready 23→175; DCF-ready 23→169
  • those proposed counts remain inspection evidence only and are not current product claims
  • working tree clean; branch aligned 0/0

Tracked/staged generated artifact churn remains zero. The existing ignored session-source-preflight JSON cache rewrite is disclosed in the prior comment and remains untracked.

The exact next reviewed decision is whether to authorize a separate make readiness rebuild after source-provenance and generated-diff review. Until then, pilot readiness remains blocked by stale readiness. All external source, hosted, reviewer, calibration, peer/source-review, and operated-control gates remain independently incomplete.

PR remains open and draft. Do not merge or deploy.

Readiness promotion evidence review — verified local slice

This slice extends the existing no-write readiness preview with a separate fail-closed evidence review for proposed fundamentals and DCF promotions.

Verified inspection result:

  • 152 unique proposed fundamentals promotions; 146 also propose DCF.
  • 57 use an exact source identifier with approved commercial rights; 95 use unregistered exact source values.
  • 148 have source, as-of date, and durable-reference fields; 4 require provenance review.
  • 0 have complete registered source field scope for Revenue, free cash flow, FCF margin, and shares outstanding.
  • Complete DCF price-source provenance remains separately unproven.

Boundaries preserved:

  • These are proposed in-memory technical changes, not current readiness counts.
  • Composite source labels are not split or granted inferred rights.
  • The preview writes no CSV, JSON, report, sample report, screenshot, timing, cache, or readiness artifact.
  • Saved readiness remains stale. No make readiness run was performed or authorized.
  • PR Commercial Research Beta release candidate #113 remains draft; no merge or deployment was performed.

Verification:

  • Focused preview, readiness-engine, universe, source-rights, launcher, and documentation tests passed.
  • Full suite: 2,796 passed; one existing dateutil deprecation warning.
  • Dashboard boot smoke passed.
  • All six Personal Research route render smokes passed.
  • Public wording and public check passed.
  • Commercial beta and commercial beta release checks passed.
  • Pilot readiness executed and remains truthfully blocked by stale readiness.
  • Diff and staged hygiene passed with zero generated CSV/JSON/report candidates.
  • Byte fingerprint before and after the real readiness preview was identical.

Commits:

  • 9e1281b Design readiness promotion evidence review
  • e4174e2 Plan readiness promotion evidence review
  • 5e6e01d Audit readiness promotion evidence
  • 849800e Advance promotion evidence lineage

Next executable local lane: audit the remaining non-promotion readiness changes and the missing DCF price-source lineage without writing generated artifacts or editing source rights.

Readiness change-cause review — verified local slice

The same no-write readiness preview now explains major saved-versus-proposed transitions using named, tested method reasons.

Current in-memory transition evidence:

  • 3 ticker rows added; 0 removed.
  • Newly ready features: fundamentals 152; DCF 146.
  • Newly partial features: fundamentals 49; peer 3.
  • Newly excluded features: DCF 464; peer 2.
  • All 464 new DCF exclusions are explained: acquisition/SPAC 180, bank/bancorp 145, financial/insurance/mortgage 93, closed-end fund 30, capital corporation 6, nonpositive-revenue margin model 4, realty-trust/BDC 3, and REIT 3.
  • Unexplained new DCF exclusions: 0.

Boundaries:

  • Transition counts can overlap for one ticker and are not current readiness totals.
  • Exclusion reasons explain method fit; they are not company-quality judgments, rankings, or recommendations.
  • Existing exclusion behavior is unchanged and regression-tested.
  • The preview remains stdout-only and byte-preserving; no readiness rebuild or generated artifact was created.
  • Saved readiness remains stale; PR Commercial Research Beta release candidate #113 remains draft.

Verification:

  • Focused company-scope, readiness-preview, readiness-engine, docs, and launcher tests passed.
  • Full suite: 2,803 passed; one existing dateutil warning.
  • Dashboard boot and six Personal Research route render smokes passed.

  • Pilot readiness remains truthfully blocked by stale readiness.
  • Generated CSV/JSON/report/sample-report/screenshot/timing candidates: 0.

Commits:

  • ffe9511 Design readiness change cause review
  • 8fd61e2 Explain readiness change causes
  • cf81319 Advance change cause lineage

DCF price-source lineage review — verified no-write slice

The readiness preview now audits the exact latest usable canonical price row for every proposed DCF promotion while preserving independent technical, provenance, rights, and registered-field states.

Current in-memory evidence:

  • Proposed DCF promotions reviewed: 146.
  • One unambiguous latest valid positive-close row: 146/146.
  • Missing or ambiguous latest rows: 0.
  • Complete row-level source/source_ref/retrieved_at lineage: 0/146.
  • Approved exact-source commercial rights: 0/146.
  • Complete registered prices field scope: 0/146.
  • Exact canonical source value: missing for all 146; no provider was inferred.

Boundaries preserved:

  • Price presence remains technical readiness evidence; it is not provider provenance or commercial permission.
  • Observation date, local file origin, file timestamp, adapter availability, refresh history, and OHLCV shape cannot reconstruct a missing provider.
  • Missing/composite source identifiers are not split or granted borrowed rights.
  • The audit does not change DCF readiness, valuation math, canonical prices, source rights, freshness, or rebuild authorization.
  • Saved readiness remains stale. No make readiness run or generated data migration was performed.

Verification:

  • Focused slice/docs tests: 68 passed.
  • Full suite: 2,819 passed; one existing dateutil deprecation warning.
  • Dashboard boot and all six Personal Research render routes passed.
  • Public wording, public check, commercial-beta check, commercial-beta release check, and clean-tree pilot readiness check completed successfully.
  • Pilot remains blocked only by stale saved readiness.
  • Readiness preview byte-and-metadata fingerprint was identical before and after.
  • Diff/staged hygiene: zero CSV, JSON, report, sample-report, screenshot, timing, canonical-data, or manual-review paths staged.
  • Branch is clean, pushed, and aligned 0/0.

Commits:

  • 8b52ae9 Design DCF price lineage review
  • cc85cb5 Plan DCF price lineage review
  • ec601f6 Audit DCF price source lineage

Next executable local slice: extend the prospective manual price normalization/validation contract to preserve source_ref and retrieved_at for one reviewed row, with tests and no data generation or canonical apply. Actual evidence still requires one permitted source and reviewed rights record.

PR remains open and draft. Do not merge or deploy.

Prospective price-lineage preservation — verified

This slice closes a schema-loss gap in the existing preview-first price workflow without changing canonical price history or readiness.

  • explicit source_ref and retrieved_at now survive normalize -> validate -> preview -> later separately reviewed apply
  • missing or invalid lineage remains independently reported as lineage_review_required; technical OHLCV validity is not relabeled as commercial evidence
  • invalid retrieval timestamps remain blank; normalization time is never substituted
  • Make routing accepts the explicit evidence fields for one bounded reviewed file
  • ROADMAP, methodology, provenance, data strategy, and the continuation contract now record the capability and its truthful limits
  • no repository price normalize/apply was run
  • no readiness rebuild was run
  • no CSV, JSON, report, sample-report, screenshot, or timing churn was created or staged
  • the prior canonical audit remains unchanged: 146/146 proposed DCF promotions have a usable unambiguous latest row, but 0/146 have complete row lineage, exact-source rights approval, or registered prices scope

Verification

  • focused price/launcher/provenance tests: 168 passed
  • full suite: 2,822 passed, one existing dateutil deprecation warning
  • dashboard smoke: passed
  • research render smoke: Research Desk, Discover, Company Workbench, Monitor, Research Data Health, and Research Proof History passed
  • public wording/check: passed
  • commercial beta and release checks: passed
  • staged hygiene: 11 intentional product/code/docs/test files; 0 generated/manual-review paths
  • clean pilot check: branch sync and artifact hygiene green; readiness remains truthfully blocked because declared source dates are newer than the saved build

  • e111b0b21 Preserve prospective price lineage

The PR remains draft. Exact source identity, commercial permission, registered prices scope, a real reviewed payload, apply approval, and readiness rebuild are still separate gates.

Staged price rights and scope review — verified

The staged price validate/preview path now answers four evidence questions independently:

  1. Is the OHLCV row technically valid?
  2. Is row-level lineage complete?
  3. Is the exact retained source commercially approved in the checked-in registry?
  4. Does that exact record explicitly support prices?

Behavior remains fail-closed:

  • blank, unknown, unverified, and scope-incomplete sources remain review-required
  • composite IDs are not split and aliases/providers are not inferred
  • mixed batches retain mixed rights and scope states
  • technically invalid rows do not enter commercial-evidence counts
  • the checked-in yfinance case remains technically valid and lineage-complete with registered price scope, while commercial rights remain unverified
  • rights/scope warnings remain separate from technical validity
  • no registry edit, provider fetch, real payload, price apply, or readiness rebuild occurred
  • the prior 146-row canonical audit remains unchanged

Verification:

  • focused data-update suite: 46 passed
  • focused code/docs contract suite: 89 passed
  • full suite: 2,825 passed, one existing dateutil warning
  • dashboard smoke: passed
  • six Personal Research render routes: passed
  • public wording/check: passed
  • commercial beta and release checks: passed
  • staged hygiene: 7 intentional product/code/docs/test files; 0 generated/manual-review paths
  • clean pilot check: branch sync and artifact hygiene green; readiness remains truthfully stale

Commits:

  • 537ca39ab Design staged price rights review
  • b1970004d Plan staged price rights review
  • 53c925b87 Review staged price source rights

The PR remains draft. A permitted exact source, reviewed payload, explicit apply decision, readiness rebuild, source proof, hosted controls, reviewers, and calibration evidence remain separate gates.

Commercial staged-price apply guard — verified

Explicit Commercial Research mode now fails closed before staged-price mutation unless every technically valid row has:

  • complete source / source_ref / retrieved_at lineage
  • approved exact-source commercial rights
  • registered prices scope

Guard behavior:

  • blocked commercial batches return before backup creation or canonical-file writes
  • lineage, rights, and price-scope blockers remain independent and deterministic
  • explicit research mode preserves the existing separately reviewed local apply path
  • a complete approved temporary fixture can pass the guard; passage does not trigger automatic apply or readiness
  • all mutation tests used pytest temporary directories only
  • no repository price apply, rights edit, source fetch, or readiness rebuild occurred

Verification:

  • focused data-update suite: 50 passed
  • focused code/docs contract suite: 94 passed
  • full suite: 2,829 passed, one existing dateutil warning
  • dashboard smoke and six Personal Research routes: passed
  • public wording/check: passed
  • commercial beta and release checks: passed
  • staged hygiene: 7 intentional product/code/docs/test files; 0 generated, canonical-data, or manual-review paths
  • clean make readiness-preview TOP_N=20: wrote nothing and retained the current 146/146 usable-row, 0/146 lineage, 0/146 rights, 0/146 price-scope truth
  • branch clean and aligned after push

Commits:

  • d26d64058 Design commercial price apply guard
  • aa12d0e5f Plan commercial price apply guard
  • c88aca753 Guard commercial price apply

The PR remains draft. A real permitted source export, payload review, explicit mutation decision, readiness rebuild, source proof, hosted controls, reviewer sessions, calibration evidence, and market validation remain separate gates.

Verified slice: prospective consensus source-rights guard

Implemented:

  • Collection preview now separates append-only technical eligibility from exact-source commercial rights.
  • Populated Revenue and EPS values require independent revenue_consensus and eps_consensus registered scope.
  • Unknown, unverified, scope-incomplete, and composite exact sources fail closed without provider inference.
  • Explicit Commercial Research mode blocks before ledger or parent-directory mutation when rights or required metric scope is incomplete.
  • Ordinary research mode preserves the explicit reviewed append-only path.

Evidence:

  • Focused collector/source-rights tests: 22 passed.
  • Full suite: 2,833 passed with one existing dateutil deprecation warning.
  • Dashboard smoke and all six Personal Research/Advanced Evidence render routes passed.
  • Public wording and public-check passed.
  • Commercial beta and commercial beta release checks passed their local contract gates.
  • Staged hygiene passed with 8 product/code/docs/test files and zero generated CSV/JSON/report/sample-report/screenshot/timing files.

Maturity boundary:
This improves methodology, evidence governance, and commercial operating maturity. It does not provide a licensed consensus source, a real point-in-time snapshot, historical depth, calibration evidence, hosted proof, external reviewer evidence, or market validation. The checked-in rights registry still approves no prospective-consensus source or revenue_consensus/eps_consensus scope, so real Commercial Research collection remains correctly blocked.

Commits:

  • cd99aa0 Design consensus source rights guard
  • 9b15faf Plan consensus source rights guard
  • bf49a18 Guard commercial consensus collection

PR remains draft. No merge, deployment, readiness rebuild, provider collection, or repository data apply occurred.

Verified slice: prospective consensus whole-batch preflight

Implemented:

  • Preview and record now use the same ordered virtual-ledger evaluation.
  • Earlier technically valid proposed rows are visible to later rows, so explicit revision chains preview consistently.
  • Intra-batch duplicates, reversed or missing supersession, same-period conflicts, empty inputs, technical failures, and commercial evidence failures are reported before mutation.
  • A deterministic later rejection leaves an existing ledger byte-identical; a missing destination remains absent.
  • Valid research and rights-approved commercial batches append in supplied order through one batch call and one append handle.
  • The existing single-row API delegates to the batch path.

Verification:

  • Focused collector/source-rights tests: 32 passed.
  • Full suite: 2,843 passed with one existing dateutil deprecation warning.
  • Dashboard smoke and all six Personal Research/Advanced Evidence render routes passed.
  • Public wording, public-check, commercial-beta, and commercial-beta-release gates passed locally.
  • Staged hygiene passed with 8 product/code/docs/test files and zero generated CSV/JSON/report/sample-report/screenshot/timing files.

Truth boundary:
This prevents deterministic validation failures from causing partial proposed-row writes. It is not a database transaction, concurrent-writer lock, crash-recovery mechanism, provider source, rights approval, readiness promotion, or calibration evidence. Saved readiness remains stale and no repository consensus data or readiness artifact was written.

Commits:

  • df16288 Design consensus batch preflight

Implemented and verified the next local evidence-integrity slice: registry-derived consensus source validation.

What changed:

  • Removed caller-supplied consensus source rights labels from the upstream row validator.
  • Kept technical row acceptance independent from commercial permission.
  • Derived exact-source rights plus populated Revenue/EPS scope from the checked-in registry.
  • Added immutable row-level and aggregate commercial-review evidence.
  • Renamed technically valid historical state to historical_evidence_reviewable so reviewability is not presented as activation.
  • Composite source IDs remain unknown; invalid technical rows do not enter commercial-ready counts.
  • Updated ROADMAP, Earnings Nowcast pilot, data strategy, methodology, provenance, continuation contract, design, and plan.

Verification:

  • Focused red run: 7 expected failures against the old contract.
  • Focused green: 27 passed.
  • Full suite: 2,847 passed; one existing third-party dateutil deprecation warning.
  • dashboard-smoke: passed.
  • research-dashboard-render-smoke: all six Personal Research and Advanced Evidence routes passed.
  • public-wording-check, public-check, commercial-beta-check, and commercial-beta-release-check: passed.
  • pilot-readiness-check: truthfully blocked because saved readiness is stale and the package was pre-commit dirty at check time; no readiness rebuild was run.
  • diff/staged hygiene and whitespace checks: passed.
  • Generated CSV/JSON/report/sample-report/screenshot/timing churn: 0.

Truthful boundary:

  • The checked-in registry still approves no prospective-consensus source or revenue_consensus / eps_consensus scope.
  • No real consensus snapshot, ledger row, source-rights change, readiness rebuild, nowcast activation, backtest evidence, or calibration evidence was added.
  • External provider/data/rights, hosting, reviewer, peer-source, calibration, and operated-platform dependencies are unchanged.

Commits:

  • b8150aac9 Design consensus source validation rights
  • d03cd572f Plan consensus source validation rights
  • b520856cf Derive consensus source validation rights

Next safe executable local slice:
Add an explicit review cutoff and snapshot-before-retrieval ordering to upstream source-row validation so point-in-time review cannot accept future or reversed timestamps. Keep technical validity, rights, Revenue/EPS scope, candidate context, collection, and activation independent.

PR remains draft; no merge or deployment was performed.

Verified slice: consensus source temporal integrity

Implemented:

  • Every upstream source-row validation call now requires an explicit UTC review cutoff.
  • Every row must declare exactly current_only or point_in_time.
  • Technical acceptance requires snapshot_at <= retrieved_at <= review_cutoff.
  • Candidate context receives no cutoff exemption.
  • The normalized cutoff is preserved in every validation result.
  • Missing/unknown scope, reversed timestamps, and post-cutoff timestamps fail before commercial review.
  • Mixed batches preserve valid sibling rows and original one-based row numbers.

Verification:

  • Clean pre-change baseline: 27 focused and 2,847 full tests passed.
  • Red run: 16 expected failures against the old contract.
  • Focused green: 36 passed.
  • Full suite: 2,856 passed with one existing third-party dateutil warning.
  • Dashboard smoke and all six Personal Research/Advanced Evidence render routes passed.
  • Public wording, public-check, commercial-beta, and commercial-beta-release gates passed.
  • Staged hygiene: 8 intentional product/code/docs/test files; zero generated, canonical-data, or manual-review paths.
  • No readiness rebuild was run.

Truth boundary:

  • Cutoff passage proves local timestamp ordering against the supplied review boundary only.
  • It does not prove provider publication time, payload correctness, source reference, rights, freshness, collection, point-in-time depth, nowcast readiness, backtesting, calibration, hosted operation, reviewer adoption, or market validation.
  • No real snapshot, ledger row, source-rights record, CSV, JSON, report, sample report, screenshot, timing output, or readiness artifact changed.
  • Saved readiness remains stale and pilot readiness remains blocked on that separate gate.

Commits:

  • c18cf73b3 Design consensus source temporal integrity
  • e48cab7e6 Plan consensus source temporal integrity
  • dc5925afb Enforce consensus source review cutoff

Next safe executable local slice:
Centralize the duplicated exact-source rights and populated Revenue/EPS scope review used by source validation and prospective collection into one pure tested decision primitive, preserving their independent technical and write states.

Verified slice: shared consensus commercial field-scope review

  • Added one frozen, pure exact-source decision for checked-in commercial rights plus ordered required/missing field scope.
  • Migrated prospective consensus collection preview and upstream source-row validation to the shared decision while preserving their independent technical states, blocker wording, mutation rules, and readiness behavior.
  • Added fail-closed tests for approved/missing scope, rights/scope independence, composite IDs, rights-only review, immutability, normalization, blank fields, and duplicates.
  • Updated ROADMAP item 33, data strategy, pilot, methodology, provenance, and the continuation contract.

Verification:

  • Red: 8 intended helper-contract failures before implementation.
  • Focused: 53 passed.
  • Full: 2,864 passed; one existing third-party dateutil deprecation warning.
  • Passed: dashboard-smoke, research-dashboard-render-smoke, public-wording-check, public-check, commercial-beta-check, commercial-beta-release-check, pilot-readiness-check TOP_N=10, diff-hygiene-summary, git diff --check, staged-hygiene-check, and git diff --cached --check.
  • Generated CSV/JSON/report/sample-report/screenshot/timing churn: 0.

Truthful boundary: this centralizes registry metadata only. It does not prove payloads, timestamps, comparability, reviewer intent, collection, activation, readiness, backtesting, calibration, hosting, or market validation. Saved readiness remains intentionally stale and was not rebuilt. No real consensus row or rights record changed.

Verified slice: read-only consensus source review command

Implemented:

  • Added make earnings-consensus-source-review INPUT=<reviewed.csv> PROVIDER=<source_id> AS_OF=<timestamp> as the first Stage 2 source-review-before-preview gate.
  • Requires explicit provider identity and UTC cutoff; no defaults are inferred.
  • Strictly rejects missing, blank, or duplicate headers and undeclared extra row values.
  • Preserves ordered one-based rejection and commercial-review evidence.
  • Renders deterministic human or JSON technical, temporal, rights, and populated Revenue/EPS scope states.
  • Retains auto_apply=false; collection preview and confirmed record remain separate gates.
  • The Make path disables bytecode writes and the command never fetches, normalizes, records, applies, rebuilds readiness, or writes an output artifact.

Red-green evidence:

  • Loader/renderer red: missing interfaces; green: 25 source tests passed.
  • CLI/Make red: 4 intended failures for absent arguments/routing/target; green: 106 source and launcher tests passed.
  • Documentation red: authoritative docs lacked the command; green: the new contract test passed.
  • A synthetic test-fixture smoke preserved the input SHA-256 byte-for-byte and created no artifact.

Verification:

  • Affected source, launcher, and documentation tests: 150 passed.
  • Full repository suite: 2,881 passed with one existing third-party dateutil deprecation warning.
  • Dashboard smoke and all six Personal Research/Advanced Evidence render routes passed.
  • Public wording, public-check, commercial-beta, commercial-beta-release, pilot-readiness, diff hygiene, whitespace, staged hygiene, and cached whitespace checks completed successfully.
  • Staged package: 11 intentional product/code/docs/test files; zero generated CSV/JSON/report/sample-report/screenshot/timing, canonical-data, or manual-review paths.

Truthful boundary:
This makes a supplied dataset reviewable before collection preview. It does not supply a provider, entitlement, dataset, payload proof, source-reference proof, collection, readiness, backtesting, calibration, hosting, external reviewers, commercial demand, or market validation. Verified follow-up — distinct consensus input contracts

A post-implementation schema audit found that the source-review file and prospective collection file were documented with the same placeholder even though they intentionally have different contracts.

Corrected at 41863fe3d:

  • upstream source review consumes SOURCE_INPUT=<reviewed_source_export.csv> with explicit history_scope
  • prospective collection consumes COLLECTION_INPUT=<prospective_consensus.csv> with the existing review_state schema
  • a human must explicitly preserve accepted evidence while mapping between them
  • no command infers scope, transforms either file, or writes an intermediate artifact
  • runtime validators, collector schema, and checked-in CSV template remain unchanged

Verification:

  • regression test failed against the ambiguous old wording, then passed after correction
  • focused source/collection/launcher/docs suite: 170 passed
  • full suite: 2,882 passed with one existing third-party dateutil warning
  • dashboard smoke and all six Personal Research/Advanced Evidence routes passed
  • public wording, public release, commercial beta, and commercial beta release gates passed
  • staged hygiene: 9 intentional docs/test files; zero generated, canonical-data, screenshot, timing, or manual-review paths
  • saved readiness remains truthfully stale; no readiness rebuild ran

PR remains open and draft. This closes a local operating-contract ambiguity only; permitted point-in-time consensus, source rights, hosting, reviewers, calibration, operated controls, and market validation remain external or unproven.

Verified audit resolution — commercial direct price refresh

Current verified head: dab378b39

Closed the independent-audit finding that direct price refresh could bypass exact-source commercial rights and field-scope review.

Implemented

  • Added stable exact IDs for Stooq, Yahoo, FMP, Alpha Vantage, Finnhub, and IBKR.
  • Automatic-ladder labels must match the child source identity.
  • Explicit Commercial Research mode reviews each reachable provider for approved commercial rights and registered prices scope before provider construction/fetch.
  • The exact provider that returns rows is rechecked before rows or status enter the mutation path.
  • Missing, changed, unapproved, or scope-incomplete supplied identities fail before canonical or status output.
  • Research mode retains the existing provider order and local refresh behavior.

Verification

  • Test-first red run: 9 intended failures against the old behavior.
  • Focused code/docs regression: 122 passed.
  • Full repository suite: 2,893 passed with one existing third-party dateutil deprecation warning.
  • Dashboard smoke and all six Personal Research/Advanced Evidence routes passed.
  • Public wording, public check, commercial beta, commercial beta release, browser evidence, pilot-readiness, diff hygiene, staged hygiene, and whitespace checks completed successfully.
  • Generated CSV/JSON/report/sample-report/screenshot/timing churn: 0.
  • Branch is clean, pushed, and aligned with its remote.

Truthful boundary

No provider was called or approved, no source-rights record changed, no canonical price row or row-level lineage was added, and no readiness rebuild ran. The checked-in registry still has no approved exact direct-price provider with registered prices scope. Saved readiness remains stale; point-in-time consensus, hosted preview, external beta reviewers, trusted-source activation, calibration, operated controls, commercial demand, and market validation remain separate incomplete gates.

Verified audit resolution — cohort saved-row field scope

Current verified head: fb47232fe

Closed the first coherent Priority 2 finding: focused-cohort Commercial Research coverage no longer reuses one source-level approval across unrelated saved fields.

Implemented

  • Margins, free cash flow, cash, debt, shares, filing dates, earnings dates, populated Revenue/EPS consensus, and every trusted-peer row now retain separate technical, provenance, exact-source rights, and registered-field decisions.
  • Cash/debt and Revenue/EPS consensus cannot borrow sibling permission.
  • A date-only consensus row is blocked.
  • Candidate peers remain candidate context only.
  • Commercial blockers stay under Advanced cohort evidence; the primary Research Desk, Discover, Company Workbench, and Monitor answers are unchanged.
  • Research mode retains its existing source-backed behavior.

The checked-in SEC Companyfacts record now truthfully supports saved shares and filing dates in this cohort path without unlocking margins, FCF, cash, or debt.

Red-green and verification

  • Red run: 4 intended failures proved the old source-level permission reuse and missing injectable scope contract.
  • Focused cohort/dashboard/workspace/docs suite: 91 passed.
  • Full repository suite: 2,897 passed with one existing third-party dateutil deprecation warning.
  • Dashboard smoke and all six Personal Research/Advanced Evidence routes passed.
  • Public wording/check, commercial beta/release, browser evidence, pilot readiness, diff hygiene, staged hygiene, and whitespace checks completed successfully.
  • Generated CSV/JSON/report/sample-report/screenshot/timing/canonical-data churn: 0.
  • Branch is clean, pushed, and aligned.

Truthful boundary

No source was fetched or approved, no registry/canonical/readiness artifact changed, and no consensus or peer evidence was activated. Priority 2 remains open for adjusted price-readiness evidence and canonical quarterly Revenue/EPS packet enforcement. Saved readiness remains stale; external source, hosting, reviewer, calibration, operated-control, demand, and market-validation gates remain incomplete.

Adjusted-price cohort scope slice is verified and pushed at 0141fc798.

What changed:

  • Commercial cohort price readiness now requires a saved usable history and per-row source, source_ref, and retrieved_at lineage.
  • Every retained price row must resolve to the exact registered source with commercial-use approval and prices scope.
  • Missing or mixed lineage fails closed under Advanced; Research mode keeps its existing saved-data behavior.
  • The dashboard reads the price schema first and avoids parsing the full history when required lineage columns are absent.
  • A render-performance regression found during verification was fixed (six research routes improved from about 56s to about 20.5s).

Verification:

  • TDD red: 3 intended failures before implementation.
  • Focused cohort/dashboard/workspace/docs: 94 passed.
  • Full suite: 2,900 passed, 1 existing dateutil warning.
  • dashboard smoke, research render smoke, public wording, public check, commercial beta check, commercial beta release check: passed.
  • pilot readiness: truthfully blocked by stale readiness/source-proof inputs.
  • diff/staged hygiene and whitespace checks: passed.
  • Generated CSV/JSON/report/sample-report/screenshot/timing churn: 0.

Quarterly Revenue/EPS commercial cohort scope is verified and pushed at 30ace0d7f (design anchor 20f973f62).

Audit finding closed:

  • Commercial cohort Revenue/EPS status previously trusted technically valid quarterly trend packets without an independent exact-source rights and metric-scope review.
  • That could let a source's Revenue permission overstate EPS display eligibility.

What changed:

  • Every populated accepted canonical row for a commercial quarterly metric must retain source/reference/retrieval provenance.
  • Every exact source must independently have approved commercial rights and literal revenue or eps scope.
  • Revenue and EPS remain independent; SEC Companyfacts Revenue scope cannot unlock EPS.
  • One unknown, unapproved, or scope-incomplete populated row blocks only its metric.
  • The commercial result is conjunctive with the existing technical trend packet.
  • Research mode retains packet-only behavior.
  • Split-basis, explicit-Q4, revision, rejected-row, readiness, consensus, nowcast, backtest, and calibration gates remain independent.

Verification:

  • TDD red: 3 intended failures before implementation.
  • Focused cohort/dashboard/rights/docs: 182 passed.
  • Full suite: 2,903 passed, 1 existing dateutil warning.
  • Dashboard smoke, all six Personal Research route renders, public wording/check, commercial-beta check/release check: passed.
  • Pilot readiness: truthfully blocked by stale readiness and unresolved source/reviewer/calibration inputs.
  • Diff/staged hygiene and whitespace: passed.
  • Generated CSV/JSON/report/sample-report/screenshot/timing churn: 0.

This closes the Priority 2 cohort field-scope enforcement lane. PR remains draft. No readiness rebuild, merge, deployment, provider call, source-rights change, or canonical-data write was performed.

EPS split-basis downstream enforcement is verified and pushed at 093c2137d (design anchor dc7ed7c18).

Audit findings closed:

  • Quarterly Business Trend could render and compare numeric EPS when every canonical row used companyfacts_split_basis_unverified.
  • Walk-forward backtesting could score an unverified target EPS and prior-year EPS as ground truth.

What changed:

  • The unverified Companyfacts split-basis sentinel is centralized in the earnings evidence contract.
  • Business Trend excludes sentinel EPS from values and comparisons; all-sentinel history blocks EPS, mixed history remains partial and names withheld periods.
  • Commercial cohort EPS cannot override this technical block even when a test registry approves EPS field scope.
  • Backtesting withholds sentinel target, prior-year, and consensus EPS outcomes from error, interval, and benchmark math.
  • Revenue-bearing events remain independently Revenue-evaluable; EPS-only sentinel targets are excluded.
  • Earnings Nowcast readiness, cohort-board split state, and SEC staging now share the same contract constant.
  • No split proof is inferred from matching labels, values, provider metadata, or rights scope.

Verification:

  • TDD red: 5 intended failures before implementation.
  • Focused trend/cohort/backtest/readiness/SEC/docs: 209 passed.
  • Full suite: 2,908 passed, 1 existing dateutil warning.
  • Dashboard smoke, all six Personal Research route renders, public wording/check, commercial-beta check/release check: passed.
  • Pilot readiness: truthfully blocked by stale readiness and unresolved source/reviewer/calibration inputs.
  • Diff/staged hygiene and whitespace: passed.
  • Generated CSV/JSON/report/sample-report/screenshot/timing churn: 0.

This closes Priority 3 local sentinel enforcement. Explicit primary split proof, canonical rejected-row integrity, Q4 proof, point-in-time consensus, real backtest depth, and calibration remain independent. PR remains draft; no readiness rebuild, merge, deployment, provider call, rights change, or canonical-data write occurred.

Priority 3 acceptance proof is complete at 50b90c4a6.

Added a direct filed-Q4 source-to-readiness integration test:

  • explicit SEC-filed Q4 extraction supplies the Q4 row;
  • Companyfacts Q1-Q3 extraction supplies the unverified EPS sentinel;
  • five contiguous Revenue quarters become ready;
  • EPS remains withheld because Q1-Q3 split basis is unverified, despite the explicit filed-Q4 row.

Verification: 126 focused passed; 2,909 full passed; all dashboard, Personal Research render, wording, public, commercial-beta release, pilot, whitespace, and hygiene gates passed. Pilot remains truthfully blocked. Generated churn: 0.

Priority 4 audit slice is complete at 95bafbfd0 (Enforce consensus ledger integrity).

What changed:

  • status, preview, and record now validate every saved prospective-consensus row and require one unique append-ordered, timestamp-increasing root-to-current-leaf chain per ticker/period
  • duplicate IDs/evidence identities, missing or cross-scope parents, multiple roots, forks, cycles, reversed order/timestamps, and non-leaf supersession fail closed
  • preview emits a deterministic receipt bound to normalized cutoff, Commercial Research mode, complete proposed input, and complete saved ledger; record requires and recomputes the exact receipt before mutation
  • source-review and collection schemas remain distinct; no implicit mapping was added
  • Makefile, methodology, provenance, pilot documentation, ROADMAP, and continuation goal were updated

Verification:

  • focused: 151 passed (collector, launchers, continuation/public docs)
  • full: 2,922 passed, 1 upstream deprecation warning
  • dashboard smoke and all Personal Research route renders passed
  • public wording, public check, Commercial Research Beta check/release check, pilot readiness, diff hygiene, whitespace, and staged hygiene ran successfully
  • pilot readiness remains truthfully blocked by stale readiness and external evidence gates
  • staged/generated hygiene: 11 intentional product/code/docs/test files; 0 CSV/JSON/report/sample-report/screenshot/timing/canonical-data changes

Boundaries: no provider call, source-rights change, consensus snapshot, readiness rebuild, generated artifact, deployment, merge, backtest activation, or calibration claim. This improves deterministic ledger and reviewer integrity only; it is not concurrent-writer locking or crash-safe database transactionality. PR remains open and draft.

  • changed staged price apply to a single staged-file read and atomic same-directory replacement;
  • surfaced independent temporal readiness in price lineage and Advanced evidence;
  • updated tests, methodology, provenance, data strategy, roadmap, continuation contract, and launcher guidance.

Verification:

  • focused: 236 passed;
  • full: 2945 passed, 1 warning;
  • dashboard smoke: passed;
  • research dashboard render smoke: passed;
  • public wording: passed;
  • commercial beta check: passed;
  • public check: passed;
  • commercial beta release check: passed;
  • pilot readiness check (TOP_N=10): passed;
  • diff/staged hygiene and diff checks: passed.

Hygiene: 18 intentional product/code/docs/test files; 0 generated CSV/JSON, report, sample-report, screenshot, timing, canonical-data, or manual-review churn. No readiness rebuild was run. PR remains draft.

Owner-approved Public mobile zero-scroll repair is implemented and locally verified at exact head b17040f432a3c1b0a8b7b90e4ef067c5e012d121.

  • Home phone DOM/visual order is now primary -> complete stop rule -> metrics, using one shared copy source and mutually exclusive phone/desktop containers.
  • Single-Stock Report uses selector-local Scheme A compaction; copy, route, 44px action, margin-top: -1rem, trust-strip gap, and desktop four-column layout are preserved.
  • Fresh explicit-zero-scroll 390x844 evidence: Home stop bottom 843.609375, one visible stop, action height 44; Single Stock stop bottom 836.421875, trust gap 2.21875, action height 44; both had scroll_width=390, four zero scroll offsets, zero open Advanced details, and no browser warning/error/traceback.
  • At 1280x720, Home retained two grid tracks plus the full-width desktop stop; Single Stock retained four grid tracks.
  • Local Public UX review note is 10/10, review_complete, share_review_ready (8 resolved, 2 resolved_post_fix) and remains outside Git.
  • Verification: focused matrix 1204 passed; full suite 6338 passed; dashboard smoke; six Research render routes; Commercial Research Beta release check; independent pilot readiness check; independent public-check; wording, license, browser evidence, visitor-demo, whitespace, diff/staged hygiene all completed. One existing third-party dateutil warning remains.
  • Pilot readiness remains truthfully blocked by the known uncommitted readiness/external/manual gates; this responsive repair changes no readiness, source, research, quant, generated data, hosted, reviewer, or market-validation state.
  • All 18 protected generated CSV/report/output paths remain unstaged and byte-identical.

Keep PR #113 open and draft. Do not merge or deploy. Require Commercial Research Beta / local-engineering-gate success on this exact head.

Overnight maturity-gap slice completed at exact head f712a3e.

Completed:

  • Preserved accepted-row source provenance in fundamentals source-ladder summaries when a provider row summary omits the source field.
  • Added a focused regression test reproducing the observed SEC summary mismatch: staged row source was sec_companyfacts while the console summary rendered source=-.
  • Kept readiness, imports apply, valuation, public UI, and research decisions unchanged.

Verification:

  • Focused RED observed before implementation.
  • Source-ladder tests: 4 passed.
  • Related CLI tests: 2 passed.
  • Full local suite: 6339 passed, one existing dateutil warning.
  • Commercial Research Beta release check: passed, including focused matrix, full suite, dashboard/render/public/browser/performance/license/visitor gates.
  • Exact-head GitHub Actions run 31287600733, job 93179157783: success.
  • Protected generated artifact hashes unchanged; 18 existing generated CSV/report changes remain unstaged.

Boundaries:

  • ARCT staging validates and previews as one new fundamentals row, but no imports apply was run and price remains missing.
  • Readiness remains working_artifact_uncommitted and pilot readiness remains blocked on tracked evidence eligibility plus source proof.
  • This does not establish current-market data, source-rights completion beyond the existing SEC contract, hosted operation, human review, calibration, recommendation, or investment conclusion.
  • PR remains draft; no merge or deployment.

Slice closed: preserve DCF source-review ticker scope

What changed

  • Fixed the filtered DCF source command plan so Step 1 source-review intake and Step 7 proof handoff preserve the selected ticker scope.
  • The ticker list is stable and de-duplicated from the reviewed batch rows.
  • Updated the proof-queue, dashboard-helper, and Data Health command-triage regression coverage.

Why

  • A plan built from TICKERS=ARCT TOP_N=1 previously emitted unfiltered follow-up commands, which could reopen the broader family queue and drift the evidence batch scope.
  • The corrected commands retain TICKERS=ARCT.
  • No apply, proof-record, provider refresh, readiness rebuild, or data promotion was run.

Verification

  • TDD red: the new command-plan assertion failed before the implementation fix because TICKERS was absent.
  • Focused: 48 passed.
  • Full local suite: 6339 passed, 1 existing dateutil deprecation warning.
  • make commercial-beta-release-check: passed, including 145 focused tests, another 6339-test full suite, dashboard/render checks, browser evidence, performance, public wording, whitespace, license, and hygiene gates.
  • Exact-head CI: run 31289823688 succeeded for 2731ac043470f88c2f8f1c547947f06769010ed1.
  • The 18 pre-existing generated CSV/report files remain unstaged and hash-identical to the slice baseline.

Current boundary

  • ARCT remains needs_field_fills for source/reviewer/proof fields and still lacks price; DCF remains blocked.
  • Pilot readiness remains blocked on stale/uncommitted readiness artifacts and source-proof gaps.
  • PR Commercial Research Beta release candidate #113 remains Draft; no merge, deployment, reviewer contact, or Ready-for-review transition was performed.

Slice closed: separate readiness freshness from tracked release evidence

Root cause

  • Pilot readiness reused readiness_freshness_status(), whose reviewed-batch contract intentionally folds working_artifact_uncommitted into a fail-closed freshness result.
  • That made Pilot label current saved-source readiness as a freshness failure instead of identifying the actual release-evidence-origin blocker.
  • make readiness-preview TOP_N=20 confirmed no_readiness_changes: saved and proposed counts match and 0 tickers change. This does not authorize staging or promotion.

What changed

  • Pilot requests date/source freshness without folding evidence origin into the result.
  • Added an independent Readiness evidence gate.
  • Current live result is now:
    • Readiness freshness: green/current relative to watched saved sources.
    • Readiness evidence: blocked/working_artifact_uncommitted.
    • Overall Pilot verdict: blocked.
  • Reviewed-batch callers keep their existing default fail-closed behavior.
  • Updated the authoritative data strategy boundary.

TDD and verification

  • RED: the new integration test saw Readiness freshness as blocked instead of green.
  • Focused Pilot/reviewed-batch/continuation tests: 98 passed.
  • Focused Pilot/docs/profile/reviewed-batch/continuation tests: 168 passed.
  • Full local suite: 6340 passed, 1 existing dateutil deprecation warning.
  • make commercial-beta-release-check: passed, including 145 focused tests, a second 6340-test full suite, public and research route renders, performance, browser evidence, wording, license, whitespace, and hygiene checks.
  • Exact-head CI: run 31291816377 succeeded for b9d49b3c6ef057082750986270cc68c12bccd96d.
  • All 18 pre-existing generated CSV/report files remain unstaged and hash-identical to the slice baseline.

Boundary

  • No provider refresh, imports/proof apply, readiness rebuild, evidence promotion, credentials, deployment, or reviewer contact.
  • Source-proof queues remain manual/blocked as applicable; DCF Input Proof Batches remain the leading analysis-depth gap.
  • PR Commercial Research Beta release candidate #113 remains Draft.

Slice closure: clarify readiness continuation gate labels

Commit: 238294d

Root cause

  • Several runtime surfaces hardcoded Stale readiness continuation gate even though the same fail-closed gate also covers current-but-untracked readiness evidence.
  • Project Status and Data Health said execution waited only for current readiness, which was incomplete when readiness was current but not tracked release evidence.

Change

  • Added one shared generic Readiness continuation gate heading across Auto Refresh, scheduler runbook, Coverage Frontier, Session Source Preflight, and Provider Setup.
  • Updated Project Status and Data Health to say readiness must be current and tracked, or separately reviewed.
  • Gate state, permissions, next safe command, and research-only stop rules are unchanged.

TDD and verification

  • Regression tests were written first and failed on the stale-only wording.
  • 147 related tests passed.
  • Full local suite: 6340 passed, 1 warning.
  • Full commercial-beta-release-check passed with exit 0, including 145 focused tests, another 6340-test run, route renders, performance, dashboard smoke, browser evidence, public wording, license, whitespace, and hygiene gates.
  • Exact-head CI run 31294361046 succeeded for this SHA; job 93196900435 completed in 18m24s.
  • Staged hygiene passed with exactly 13 product and test files, 0 generated artifacts, and 0 manual-review paths.
  • All 18 protected generated CSV and report hashes remained identical to the continuation baseline and remain unstaged.

Boundaries

  • No provider refresh, imports, apply, readiness rebuild or promotion, credentials, deployment, merge, or reviewer contact.
  • PR remains Draft.

Slice closure: align readiness continuation gate documentation

Commit: d111ead

Root cause

  • Runtime surfaces now correctly use a generic Readiness continuation gate, but current operating documentation still described the gate as stale-only.
  • That wording was incomplete for current-but-untracked readiness evidence, which also remains inspection-only.

Change

  • Updated ROADMAP, Data Strategy, Dashboard QA, and the continuation contract to cover stale, incomplete, unverified, or current-but-untracked readiness.
  • Preserved the historical stale-gate lineage anchor as history rather than current operating terminology.
  • Added a document contract regression that rejects stale-only active wording while preserving the no-write preview, planning-only ranking, and separate reviewed-write boundaries.

TDD and verification

  • The new document contract failed first because current-but-untracked scope was absent.
  • Focused regression: 1 passed.
  • Full release-document suite: 85 passed.
  • commercial-beta-release-check passed with exit 0: 145 focused tests, 6340 full-suite tests, route renders, performance, dashboard smoke, browser evidence, public wording, license, whitespace, and hygiene gates.
  • Exact-head CI run 31295837376 succeeded for this SHA; job 93200672425 completed in 18m40s.
  • Staged hygiene passed with exactly 5 product and test files, 0 generated artifacts, and 0 manual-review paths.
  • All 18 protected generated CSV and report hashes remained identical to the continuation baseline and remain unstaged.

Boundaries

  • No gate status or permission changed.
  • No provider refresh, imports, apply, readiness rebuild or promotion, credentials, deployment, merge, or reviewer contact.
  • PR remains Draft.

Slice closure: stabilize and refresh the pilot readiness packet

Commit: 62e0d97

Root cause

  • The packet writer sampled Git status only before writing its own output.
  • A first generation therefore reported no packet change; a second generation saw the packet as dirty and changed the handoff again.
  • The tracked packet was also materially stale: it claimed pilot-ready, 3537 price-ready, 2691 DCF-ready, no root LICENSE, and main-branch push work instead of the current blocked readiness-evidence state.

Change

  • The writer now settles the packet once against the post-write repository state within the same command.
  • Added a dynamic-status regression proving the first generated body equals the second generated body and includes its exact reviewed staging path.
  • Regenerated and independently reviewed only outputs/pilot_readiness_packet.md. It now records the blocked verdict, current saved counts, working_artifact_uncommitted evidence gate, controlled LICENSE, exact branch state, source-proof blockers, and the 18 protected artifacts excluded from staging.

TDD and verification

  • New focused regression failed first because the two generated bodies differed.
  • Focused regression passed after the fix.
  • Existing packet-write regression passed.
  • Full pilot-readiness suite: 42 passed.
  • Real-worktree repeated generation produced identical SHA256 5026b18d7fc0b65413b5f5a8aa3f4742af123f4302d0ebdf2def2629a4e2f79e.
  • commercial-beta-release-check passed with exit 0: 145 focused tests, 6341 collected and passing full-suite tests, route renders, performance, dashboard smoke, browser evidence, public wording, license, whitespace, and hygiene gates.
  • Exact-head CI run 31297460540 succeeded for this SHA; job 93204793418 completed in 19m16s.
  • Staged hygiene passed with exactly 3 product and test files, 0 generated CSV or JSON artifacts, and 0 manual-review paths.
  • All 18 protected generated CSV and report hashes remained identical to the continuation baseline and remain unstaged.

Boundaries

  • The Markdown packet is reviewer handoff evidence only. It does not promote readiness or prove source rights, hosted operation, human review, or market validation.
  • No provider refresh, imports, apply, readiness rebuild or promotion, credentials, deployment, merge, or reviewer contact.
  • PR remains Draft.

Task 1 release evidence — proof-readiness exclusion reconciliation

Head: dceab92

What changed:

  • Explicit company DCF exclusions now remain non-applicable in proof-readiness reconciliation.
  • ETF, index-proxy, and fund fundamentals/DCF/share-count company-analysis lanes remain non-applicable.
  • Saved readiness values stay unchanged; exclusions do not promote proof or availability.
  • Malformed exclusion context fails closed, and excluded lanes retain a deterministic no-action review while historical proof metadata stays visible.

Verification:

  • Independent review after one fix round: Spec PASS, Quality APPROVE.
  • Focused/related reconciliation suites: 76 passed; dashboard reconciliation: 4 passed; release-doc contract: 1 passed.
  • Full repository suite: 6,350 passed.
  • Commercial Beta release suite: 145 passed plus six Research routes, performance contract, browser QA, nested 6,350-test public gate, and release/hygiene checks.
  • Live proof-readiness reconciliation: input_status=ready; nine prior unavailable diagnoses are explicit non-applicable exclusions; no current_readiness_input_unavailable count.
  • All 18 pre-existing generated readiness/report/output changes remained byte-identical and unstaged.

Boundaries retained:

  • Pilot readiness remains blocked on working_artifact_uncommitted evidence and incomplete source proof.
  • No readiness rebuild, import/apply, source-rights promotion, hosted claim, reviewer claim, merge, deployment, or Ready-for-review transition.
  • PR remains Draft. Waiting for exact-head local-engineering-gate CI.

Exact-head CI follow-up for the exclusion-aware proof-readiness reconciliation slice:

  • Head SHA: dceab9243463b35fe55ad4cb6994e8c7438f6c24
  • GitHub Actions: SUCCESS — https://github.com/YuzeJ21/Stock-Analysis/actions/runs/31326130818
  • local-engineering-gate: full test suite, dashboard startup smoke, six Personal Research route renders, public wording, generated-artifact hygiene, and whitespace all succeeded.
  • Local HEAD, upstream branch, and PR head are equal; divergence is 0/0.
  • PR remains OPEN, DRAFT, MERGEABLE, with no human review claimed.
  • The same 18 pre-existing generated readiness/report/output paths remain unstaged and excluded.

Research-only boundary remains unchanged. This CI result proves the engineering slice only; it does not prove source rights, current-market data, hosted operation, independent validation, or calibration.
