Diffmode Growth Tactics is a free Claude Code + Codex plugin that runs a growth-strategy research pipeline: it maps your competitors and the channels each rival wins on, maps your buyers and the job each is hiring you to do, then synthesizes 7–9 unconventional acquisition tactics built for your budget, stage, and team — in about 90 minutes, locally.

Then from any folder:

No account, no API key — it writes everything into a ./<your-product>/ folder in your current directory.

What's new in 2.4.0 — Perplexity is now optional

  • Research stages prefer a Perplexity MCP server when one is configured, and otherwise fall back to the runtime's built-in web search automatically — so you can run the entire pipeline with no MCP, no account, and no API key.
  • Added a citation-integrity re-fetch on the fallback path: every cited URL is re-checked for reachability, and dead links (NXDOMAIN / 404) are dropped before results are returned.
  • Both runtimes print a one-line banner when running in built-in-web-search mode.

Free with built-in web search; about $2–3 per run if you connect Perplexity. Open source (Apache-2.0).
