The Problem

Designing and renovating a home today involves juggling 10-15 different professionals, WhatsApp-based "version control," opaque pricing with 30-60% markup stacking, and zero coordination between trades. Interior designers produce pretty renders but not manufacturing instructions. Carpenters eyeball measurements. Electricians and plumbers discover conflicts after walls are sealed. Material waste averages 10-15%.

OpenLintel exists to fix all of that.

Getting Started

Note: This project is in early development. See the Roadmap for current status.

Prerequisites

  • Node.js >= 20 LTS
  • Python >= 3.11
  • PostgreSQL >= 16
  • Redis >= 7
  • Docker & Docker Compose (recommended)

Quick Start

# Clone the repository
git clone https://github.com/rahuliitk/openlintel.git
cd openlintel

# Copy environment template
cp .env.example .env

# Start all services with Docker Compose
docker compose up -d

# Run database migrations
npm run db:migrate

# Start the development server
npm run dev

Visit http://localhost:3000 to see the app.
